You haven't answered my reply about your William Wilberforce comment. If you've read it you'll know what I feel about the rich buying immortality because they give money to tax deductible charity organisations.
I didn't make a comment about William Wilberforce, you did... Plenty of buildings are named after their benefactor, plenty aren't. In the case of medical facilities I really don't care what they call them, the fact they exist is great. I certainly do not see it as buying immortality and I really do not know enough about tax deductibles to comment other than to say I would think they could do other things with the money that don't benefit the community if they wished.
No it isn't. It's the old "not everyone likes ranting about stuff online and not everyone thinks the same way as you about the owners" argument.
Anyone who doesn't think the Allams are now disliked by the vast majority of City fans, is either deluded, or simply doesn't know what's going on. The militant 300 is ridiculous nonsense, like most of the garbage that Assem spouts.
I know it disappoints you and you don’t like to hear it but sadly it’s most likely true. Unless you can point to something that shows other wise? Internet polls and Facebook comments aren’t a fair representation of the whole as people are loudest when complaining. The people who join the trusts and forums are a certain type of fan. There isn’t a single fan around me in the south who joins in anti Allam chants (bar my nephew) and there was near universal condemnation of the ball throwing.
So, a few people sat around you in themSouth Stand are representative of the views of the majority of fans. Though it is true that despite much talk of Hull follk being independent, free-minded spirits with an edge to them who bravely confront authority the reality is apathy rules.
Not only have the Allams managed to alienate the vast majority of City fans, they've actually now managed to alienate the majority of non-City fans as well. The recent gate and sign debacles have now also turned many of the general populous of Hull against them. Obviously only the ones who post online, those without internet access probably still like him.
Ah cool, you've given up discussing and gone for your usual dismissal of differing opinions. That's quite good timing actually cos I've got quite a bit of work to do today so once I've summarised my point I will leave you to get on with your day in your little bubble where everybody holds the same opinions adn priorities as you. My opinion is that most of the 15,000 who turn up every week don't really give a **** about the Allams or what they've done. Count up everybody who's commented on Twitter/Facebook/forums and it won't come to nearly that figure. It is sad but apathy rules and most people just want a 'positive matchday experience' Going back to my original point for posting, the number of apathetic fans should be represented at meetings by similar people in order to have the issues that will bother them like leaking roofs, dodgy tannoys and mirrors in loos brought up. The one loudest voice, the one against the Allams should also be represented, such as the Trust and the protestors (but who are the protestors?) but surely a cross section of supporters from each stand would include a majority of anti-Allam obsessives since everybody hates them and wants them gone? So yeah, these people and their issues should be represented as much as anybody else and they should be dismissed on Facebook as pathetic people only interested in leaky roofs because they don't spend all their time chairing committees or building up internet personas. It's unfair and selfish. The anti-Allam voice should be heard, but they can't just intrude and exclude. NB. I am not pro-allam, I got them told off by Advertising Standards and the Independent Football Ombudsman. I'm just open minded about the opinions others may hold.
I never suggested that everybody held the same opinion as me, just that most do now and that your south stand bubble is more likely to be confusing you, don't you ever do an away game?
Most of the 15,000 would prefer a more engaged ownership who facilitates a unified fanbase, provides a positive matchday experience and markets the club as Hull City AFC and makes merchandise available using our proper club name.
Its not whether you see it as buying immortality its whether Assem Allam sees it as buying immortality. His interview with the Hull daily Mail a while back suggests he does. I'm not sure how many Universities have named two buildings after a living benefactor, do you?
So the full South stand loves the Allams and would like them to stay indefinitely then by the sound of your reasoning. Oh Dear!!
