The Flying Monk was a poster on ITTV who had me going with his "July 17" take-over stuff. I guess we all tend to believe what we want to believe.
In fairness to the Monk, a takeover was most definitely on the cards during the summer. The same interested party has arrived back on the scene but with a little more cash to splash.
This is the thread I look out for, but sadly it dropped off page 1, so does that mean there's no imminent takeover? RE on CL still saying that something is happening. What does everyone on here know/think..?
I think Roland wants to sell, and there are potential buyers who are interested. I have no idea whether or not there will be any agreement on a price. Roland is rich enough to feel he can call the shots, especially if we go up. Maybe when this is resolved there will be a deal.
According to Rick, there have been 30 points of concern in the DD. The lawyers have so far worked their way through 20 of them. I'm moderately encouraged by the fact that he's selling STVV, which is his favourite.
A report in Voetbalprimeur this morning would seem very encouraging. https://www.voetbalprimeur.be/nieuw...akenman-is-voetbalmoe-en-verkoopt-clubs-.html Google translation here: STVV is about to be sold to Japanese DMM.com. Roland Duchâtelet takes away from his team. Striking because he has other clubs in the portfolio. Although it does not seem to be long to go. The chance is that we will not see the seventy-year-old businessman much more in the football world. According to Het Nieuwsblad, Duchâtelet has become footballmoe. He is therefore planning to sell all the clubs in his portfolio in a short period of time. STVV is the first to sell. A good price was offered by the Japanese investors at the Limburg club. The Kanaries would still be held by Japanese DMM.com this week. The other clubs of Duchâtelet; Charlton Athletic, Carl Zeiss Jena and Alcorcon are on offer. He just has to find another correct buyer, or right price, for those clubs.
Nope - just that he wanted NDA’s when buying Charlton, as did TJ/MS if memory serves. If what RE says is all true then someone would be leaking it from the buying party. Just another part that isn’t adding up in my head. I really want to buy in to it all, yet so much isn’t making sense. Plus no one other than a handful of people (who sound like they have he same source) knows anything of this.
I don't know how reliable this reporter is. Maybe Roland has become "Footballmoe", or maybe the reporter is just guessing from the snippets that we all know. It's the hope that kills you.
How true - It's why I keep coming back to this thread. RD doesn't even like football. He'll sell one day - Let's just hope it's soon.
But we’re told he loves it so much he watches every one of his teams live? We’re like his kids after all.
You had to laugh at Robinson’s comment at City Addicks this week. On meeting Duchatelet for the first time, KR was instructed: “Just make the people happy” Only a one way ticket back to Belgian obscurity for him and Meire can achieve that.
I know of one NDA signed and assume everyone else must have signed them too. That was signed only three weeks ago. Perhaps previous mis-information had led everyone to believe matters are a long way down the track whereas in fact it has only just begun?
Let's not get carried away with the Sint-Truidense sale, he did exactly the same with SL ..... he got what he considered an acceptable offer for the Club and sold it..... the problem for us is that he considers an acceptable sale figure for us is £50m+ which is probably on the very high side of a stupid valuation. Perhaps if Murray is NOT part of the deal that may be achievable but with Murray in tow.... never!
