No because the minute you pay one player that they will all be knowing at the door for at least a pay rise if not equal pay. Only do that if you are prepared to gamble and break the rules as per QPR & Bournemouth.

But every team has players on varying salaries even in the megabucks pl. we will never have a quality striker at the club without paying the going rate imo

Eire in my humble opinion Lasogga wasn't being courted as a replacement but as a reserve. Then had to become a replacement as time was short. January isn't always the best time to recruit but I'm hoping we may have an alternative available next year.

Quite possible Eric. Unfortunately lack of a striker among other things make a promotion push seem Impossible

I agree there are 3 or 4 additions that I think will help. My concern is that these additions usually are better made at the end of the season, not the middle.

And how many "supporters" who want this money spent on wages actually put their cash into Leeds week in week out?

Sorry Eire but paying big wages guarantees nothing in this league.

How much was Wood on compared to Noel Hunt for example ?

It's about making the right choices and let's be honest we've made some pretty bad ones over the years so we should be used to it.

For example Barn Door Billy or Charlie Austin ?

Selling Cantona for £1m...another brilliant brainwave.

What's needed now is calmness and stability to allow Rads and Orta to build for the future. Fair enough if TC keeps on losing games then eventually he will have to go but do not be brainwashed by Glory into believing that everything good that happened over the summer is erased because of a few bad results.

Believe me, I feel and share your frustration but please keep the faith as we will definitely improve over the next 2 transfer windows.

    If
The club depend d purely on the 30k that turn up every second week, it wouldn’t be able to survive. There are tens of thousands like myself who live in other countries but buy merchandise and pay sky subs that make their way back to the club and lutv

Of course paying big wages guarantees nothing but you have to compete with others in the division. Paying peanuts guarantees you won’t

Agree with much of this... however orta joined boro around Christmas 2015. They were half way through the promotion season and top of the table. They spent a bit in jan... Rhodes (scored a few), gestede amongst others I recall... but Not sure you’d say his signings got them up.

I think most would agree saiz has been the only signing to look good to date... interestingly we were linked with him under monk...well before orta came along

What happened over the summer that was good?
    How does it benefit lufc?
What does Rad get out of it?

Not me anymore. We are still **** and I am sick of it.
An occasional visit is all I am prepared to suffer until I see a return on my money, effort and time invested over the last decade.

There is no return on your money, you hand it over to watch your chosen team, it's not a saving account at a bank.

It's an interesting debate about what offers the best value for money.

The one thing we do know though is expensive mistakes take years or in our case decades to recover from.

Now is not the time for Radz to gamble excessively as he is new to football ownership and so far he is showing all the traits of being a good and fair custodian of our great and very prestigious club. I'm more than happy to give him 3 full seasons before jumping to conclusions as others seem to have done after barely 6 months as our owner.

The main positive over the summer was that GFH and Cellino were ousted for all intents and purposes from any meaningful impact or influence on our future. In addition, ER has now gone into transparent ownership to the individual who also owns !00% of LUFC.

The benefit to LUFC is long term so obviously whilst we would all love promotion and the good times to return immediately it would be ridiculously optimistic to expect that to happen in the first season.

Radz will benefit immensely...mainly because he will enhance his reputation as a business leader and innovator.

Milking the club for money and stripping its assets is not his goal and that in time will become apparent to everybody. Making a long term success of his investment and ultimately a very healthy profit is for us as supporters a good thing. It means as a club we will have been returned to somewhere near our former glories which is so long overdue.

Jammy you got me doing some history. I looked up to see how Don Revie did in his first full season in charge. I'm not suggesting that I would like this to happen but our greatest ever manager was only able to avoid relegation from the 2nd Division (Championship) by 3 points. If the current instant success fanatics had been around then no doubt he would have been sacked by Christmas as useless. incompetent along with the young inexperienced players, Jack Charlton and Billy Bremner, he had on the books in that first year.

If milking the club is not his aim it must just be an unintended consequence.
Spent **** all and seen his asset rise in value by circa £20 million.
How many windows are you going to give him to invest more than he takes out?
