Although I'm an advocate of protests , I just think this isn't the occasion. It will make us look cheap.
What is the protocol for honorary doctorates? Was his award of a higher order that allows to him to use the title? Because if it isn't why hasn't anyone in the media or elsewhere called him out on this ?
He's allowed to use it but it's protocol not to - Adam Pearson never calls himself Doctor - it's a kind of cash for honours - he probably expects to get knighted after he sees Madge
He's not Howden, it's an honorary doctorate. This is bestowed in recognition of something e.g good work, Charity etc etc, it is not to be used officially as a title. To do this is frowned on and considered a misuse of the award. He remains Mr. Allam in any context unless he either attains the appropriate level of medical training or he earns a PhD. I cannot for the life of me fathom why people like Peter Levy for instance continue to give him the title. It would be ok to say "Mr Allam who in YEAR? was awarded an Honorary Degree in recognition of etc..." but calling him Dr. Allam is incorrect in any context.
blimey it's still limping along. They're all on here nowadays anyway dunno why they don't just close it.
Theyre meeting with the supporters committee which includes someone from the Trust. Let’s hope someone takes notes/minutes and they’re shared quickly without being vetted and approved by another committee.
