No problem with the protest, but many will miss the fact that they went on Sunday and that element could be lost. Happy has reacted just like many will as the message is disjointed We have a right of peaceful protest in this country which is something that I am sure that the chairman of the club will understand and support, given his published personal history.
Possibly, though I think most will at least figure out that the picture wasn't taken tomorrow. I think the statement is deliberately ambiguous, they don't want the Allams thinking they're in the clear. Worth pointing out, there's still been no contact with anyone over these new consultations.
I expect the photos made a few people feel uncomfortable. No idea if anyone has been contacted re consultation.
I said from the beginning this so called meeting would happen after the Queens visit. If there is any demonstration then he will immediately withdraw the offer, which as we have seen is not really a worth anything anyhow. All smoke and mirrors.
Hull City Supp Trust @HullCityST Thanks for all the feedback on Ehab's amnesty offer everyone. It's clear from your comments that the 'concessions' proposal is nowhere near good enough. We haven't had any contact from @HullCity with regard to the proposal yet. #hcafc
HCST - Response to the Call for Amnesty Following Ehab Allam’s statement last week calling for an amnesty with Hull City fans, HCST would like to update supporters with our position on the matter. Firstly, we’ve had a lot of feedback on social media and e-mails from our members and other supporters which has been very useful to us in understanding the feeling on the subject. As we have always maintained, we are absolutely open to dialogue with the club on key issues which concern supporters. Indeed, that is one of the main reasons the Trust exists and it is something we have requested for a long time. We would happily lead a call to supporters to put a halt to protests if the club were to provide solutions to supporters’ long-term grievances such as concessions. The protests take place because supporters are so dissatisfied about these issues, so it stands to reason that they should stop if the club were to resolve them. It is clear however, that the proposal of ‘concession’ tickets made in Mr Allam’s statement last week is far from satisfactory, and this is reflected in almost all of the feedback we have received. The proposal is worded in such a way that it is impossible under any circumstance for anyone to pay less than they do now for the same seat, unless an accompanying adult supporter makes up the difference. Adults who attend without children will pay more than they do now. The proposed changes are in practice just a price rise for certain supporters. If, as promised, the club will engage in dialogue with supporters groups, a much more worthwhile arrangement will need to be made in order for an amnesty to be agreed. As yet, we have had no contact from the club on this matter. We have pro-actively contacted them earlier this week to try and initiate a swift dialogue, but we have had no response so far. Therefore, with the current situation remaining unchanged, we will not encourage supporters to stop protesting at matches until such time that the club follows up its request for an amnesty with meaningful dialogue and actions.
I've spoken to him a couple of times. First time was after the Barmby sacking. Second time was about a year ago asking when he was going to sell. Spotted him again on Monday night but thought what's the point? The last 'amnesty' statement bollox just proves he is not living in the same world as the rest of us. Bludgeoning him with a breeze block (or name-calling) would be unlikely to win the argument either.
Did the Trust ever encourage supporters to protest? If not, it’s a bit strange for the Trust to now be not encouraging Supporters to stop protesting.
I don't think it is (although I would say that since I wrote it). The club are asking supporters to stop protesting and we're saying we're prepared to put our full weight behind that if they're prepared to actually provide some meaningful resolution to fans' complaints, but not until then.
I suppose this means I have to find the minutes and check now, you bugger, fancy posting that at tea time. Me pie will get cold.
