    we will still be 4th, it is the time of the season when games have settled down and form should be a little bit more stable, but hey ho this is the championship and so far been a way off that!

    With the goings on of the past couple of seasons, my first target figure has to be 52 points on the board, second target 64 points, will be well happy with that, 3rd target well that has to be 76 points, and the possibility of 3 games before the premiership is our reward.

    4th target is more difficult, to many draws so far, and that is second or first in the division and auto ...
    would this be a good or bad thing?
    Are we and could we be ready?
    YOU cant finish second and say "not really ready for this, will wait till next year" as that next year may be decades away.
    so like the words of the song "ready or not" you have to take it on , and survive for 2 years or so! then .......

    Other teams similar in size, and even smaller than ourselves have done it and have survived, even if only temporarily.
    Such as

    Oldham
    Barnsley
    Swindon
    Bournemouth
    Wigan
    Hull
    Fulham
    Huddersfield
    Burnley

    Others like Burnley are thriving and Fulham and Wigan had quite a few seasons in the top flight
    If you go up automatically then you have to be ready.

    I assume 52 points is the points total you are suggesting needed for survival , what's the significants of 64 & 76 points?

    52 = Relegation safety
    64 = Mid Table
    72 = Play off position.

    But I could be wrong

    pretty much my way of thinking although time will tell if 72 is enough, second team might only get 80 pts?

    Well going into next Saturday's game v HULL we will still be in the top 5, no mean achievement considering we have given up 14 points by drawing 7 games from 17, with 5 teams hot on our heals where might we be at Christmas?
    Last season we were in a period of 16 games a (thirdish of the season) where we managed 7 points !
    it started on game 12 v Cardiff ( 20 pts on the board) and ended on game 28 v Sheff wed ( 28 points on the board) the team we drew with yesterday.
    for some it was developing into a very stressfull period, and hopefully this Christmas will go down much less of a pass me the alka seltzer one for those distraught individuals. <bubbly><cracker><cracker><cracker>:emoticon-0167-beer:
    we had picked up 27 points on the recovery from 57 available and I will be happy if the same amount is collected in our last 19 games!
    in the mean time those outstanding 10 games or 30 points is a bonus .. = top 6 but unlikely auto?
