Seems like the young side did well against a talented Brazil outfit. Credit to Southgate for giving them a go. Have a feeling come Russia you may well find one or two younger players coming to the fore, particularly in midfield.

Yes of course x10 is a slight exaggeration and it was based on the first half only, 2nd half was better. Having said that they were a lot better than us and would have been a lot better than our supposed full strength team. They have more skill, composure and imagination in every position on the park and had it not been a friendly I'm sure they would have put 2 or 3 past us.

It' a shame that England are the only UK representatives at the WC.
I' have liked to have seen all the British Isles there.

2-0 to the Aussies, penalty for hand ball, Jedinak again, though the first one seems to be now given as an own goal.

All over 3-1 to the Aussies, Jackson will be going to Russia by the looks of it.

Good second half by Australia, Jackson should be off to Russia, Maynor won’t be. They have apparently awarded the first goal to Figueroas namesake Henri, so Jedinak only gets the credit for two. At least the mighty Tigers should have at least one rep at the Final, hopefully more, depending on who gets into the squads.

Larsson is Sweden's vice captain, so bar injury he'll be off.

Grosicki will surely be on the plane too, but whether he's left City by the time the tourney starts is another thing.

Not allowed more than 2 EUROPEAN teams in one group.
I think when it goes to 48 teams it will be just 1 euro team in 1 group
