The UK is her home in the context of comparing the harshness of laws; which is what I was speaking of; I couldn't give a **** what part of it she's from. Let's hope you become able to exercise your intelligence in reading properly, rather than going after an argument.
Fez going on about looking for an argument. Oh, the irony! I haven't noticed you getting indignant about others in foreign jails for breaking their laws.
The tired argument of the boards intelligent fool. Would that be necessary for me to have an opinion - don't bother answering that, I'm done with you.
Good your hard work, but I'm at a loose end so I'll keep going...... Yes the UK is here home, well done for spotting that! Let's make this really really simple shall we!! UK = home - she broke drug laws here - check Egypt = destination - she broke yet more drug laws there and was caught - check Conclusion - she's broken drug laws in 2 separate countries and is now facing punishment under the countries law that she was caught in. Is that Coutries laws different to our and out dated? Yes but you pay your monies, you take your chances! Drugs ruin lifes Crime associated with drugs ruins lifes Smuggling ruins lifes Why should she be treated any different to any other drugs criminal?? The drugs she snuggled into a country where they are a huge problem could have had a huge impact on an innocent family in Egypt. Just imagine if any drugs effected your family.....how would you feel towards the people who smuggled them in?
Maybe she should be treated like a Norwegian prisoner where she has a nice room with a fully tooled kitchen where she can cook her own food, play video games or go and sunbathe on the prisons private beach?
My response was to Castro. I understand all of that, no need to repeat it. My point is simple, she broke the law, the punishment is harsh and I believe we should seek clemency- that doesn't mean she should be exonerated.
Irrespective of whether she has been marginally, very, or incredibly stupid, lets hope she gets home some time soon and tells others not to take medicines etc into other country's who may not share our laissez-faire approach to painkillers etc...I do feel for her family and hope Karl Turner well in trying to get the Foreign office to press the Egyptians to at least give her bail, no guarantee with that buffoon in office.
She's got off lightly in Egyptian terms. We've had a sentence of 7 years from other Egyptian dictators.
