Considering the players we were up against, I think the midfield did well.

As for Howson my point was he didn't need to stand out. In our midfield, we needed atleast one player to do that. He closed people down, made interceptions, didn't give the ball away. Whilst that's not what he's best at, it's what he needed to do in this game. Often I think SG tries to hard to get the best out of his best players rather than set the team out to get a result. Howson's attacking influence was reduced, so we weren't left short at the back.

I agree his best position is behind a striker, no doubt. But we don't need him to put in a match winning performance every game. In centremid he doesn't stand out, but I don't think that's bad thing, especially in a midfield 2.

Howson may be better as an attacking midfielder but we need to play to the team's strengths and without Becchio 4-2-3-1 doesn't work!! 4-4-2 is the way to go for now at least!!

I thought Leeds were fantastic today and Clayton put in another MotM performance!! Leeds defended well minus West Ham's first goal and Kissa's OG!! I would rather have Clayton and Howson over Nolan and Parker - Leeds proved that they are as good as anyone in this division today.

Lonergan is looking excellent as well - getting better game by game.........Kasper who??

felt snoddys corners had too much height to his crosses, but came alive in the 2nd half and looked more threatening! To say west ham are the force of this division, its safe to say im actually not worried about them at all!

And tomkins is a cock end!

His corners were pretty high, but generally they were begging to be headed by a Leeds player and it's certainly better than the usual scenario of the first defender easily heading the low ball away.

Leeds players don't jump! If you watch them, when attacking or defending a high ball, they either stretch or just let it go over their heads. I've never seen such a poor display of jumping up to header a ball to goal or away from any team, like I watched today.
The players appear happy to head the ball, when it's nowhere near an opposition player or mid height, but anything that means they need to get it spot on, is simply left!
    Any reasons?

We're one of the shortest teams in the league. They therefore adopt a defeatist attitude and tend to tug shirts and push rather than fruitlessly challenging for headers. Part of the reason why we're such prolific foulers.

I think some of the scroing is a little harsh we did pretty well I thought. Agree Howson didn't contribute much, I have always felt he is a little over rated.
