    Italy sound like an average team. No Veratti, no Insigne and an ageing defence. Got some good players though.

    I can see where you are coming from Beddy, standing in the glorious sunshine at the Dell watching the Saints pummel the opposition 4-0 with a brace of goals from Ron Davies supplied by magical crosses from Terry Paine. Now all we see are highly paid footballers unable to beat the first defender from a free kick or corner after spending their training sessions in the luxury of their training centres. Or do they?

    Well France missed out in 1994 and look what happened 4 years later. Perhaps elimination could be the best thing for Italy so that it has to spend time on reflection and analysis on how to move forward for the future.
