The thing is we are going through a hell of a bad patch and deep down we knew we would after the disastrous transfer window but we are not quite a 1/3 of the way through and there is only 6 points between us and 10th place and that indicates there are at least 10 clubs who are going through a bad patch as well with players of the same standard......I believe that if clement is still here in January then we will probably go down but if we do the right thing and sack him now then we have a very good chance with a new manager who will give the club a boost and confidence and a different way the new manager likes to train and play......We can end up smelling of roses if the club were to do the right thing and change the manager......
Cork " Escapes " us and plays every minute for his new Premier League 7th place club and gets his first International call up ...( Heavy Sigh )... speaks volumes to our " Transfer Policy " of late .
He was one of our better players whether you regard him as average or not......We are not one off the top 6 are we and never will be....
Did he play I'm afraid he was not considered one of our better players by those who attend games , a dog in the middle who would chase and harry yes but a creative player he wasn't
Roy Keane wasn't a 'creative player' at his peak for Utd and yet he was easily one of their best players. The best players are usually attacker/creators etc but we are missing what Cork brought to the midfield badly. Without that 'dog' in the side, then your middle is soft and weak, which is exactly what our midfield is.
FFS No they haven't you buffoon , the last time I looked the game is played with 11 players and a manager who knows how to play a certain way , that certain way suits Cork .
I agree about him being the dog in the middle , a player who breaks play up and moves the ball on , now where did we see one of those types of players last
For me Cork was the dog in midfield who ran around chasing his tail. Often his exertions were down to him having lost the ball or failing to be in position. Another player who I really hoped would do well (replace Leon in some way) but he just didn't produce the goods. His lack of success here may well have been down to players not knowing their oles for three seasons.
Clement has let it be known his plan to save us from relegation lies with Kyle Walker-Peters. https://www.sportsmole.co.uk/footba...a-keen-to-sign-kyle-walker-peters_311759.html I suppose it makes sense - we won't have to put hands in pockets nor will we be stuck with an expensive player to off-load from the Championship.
As it sits now , I would trade any of Mesa , Clucas or Sanches for Jack Cork . I would have started the season with Cork , Britton and Fer ( in the AM role until Ki became available and make a decision from their .) Regardless if he played , he got the call out of a lot of players that could have been called . We absolutely dropped the ball when it came to transferring Cork out IMO .
And for those that think that getting rid of Llorente and his 15 open play goals and Siggy's 6 open play goals is what put us in this position ..think again . Even they couldn't function in what Clement has tried to do this season to fix last years performance.... defensively . For the past 25 seasons , 17 teams , each season , didn't get relegated . That's a total of 425 individual team seasons . We allowed the 4th highest goals against last season , for those non relegated teams over 25 seasons , out of 425 possibilities . 4th worst out of 425 ,
