Are you losing your marbles it's on the list and further both John Tovey RICK Stein said it was the best in the UK
The magpie cookery book priced £9.99 was selling on ebay for £100 that's how popular the restaurant is.Customers are already saying they will have a day off work when it reopens so please get your FACTS right

I agree DO and Gray would be a disaster I would seriously look at the Shrewsbury manager has worked wonders with them

    Good morning Mike.
It’s lower down the list than the best place in Whitby.
Went to Rick Steins pub just outside padstow in September and despite not me expecting it the food was exceptional and great value for money.

Never had scampi like it, and his sticky toffee pudding was the best pudding I have ever had.

Not sure it helped the gout though!

Not sure if O'Leary is being considered Ristac, cos the article only said Radz had invited him for a game and drinks I think, but it does suggest, in a roundabout way that Radz may be looking at other options.

I think Gray can do a good job, he's seen a lot of managers come and go, and why, he did a pretty good job as player manager back in 85 to 89, and he's older and wiser now.

What we need is a manager who is attack minded, as they say, best form of defence is attack. TC seems to panic and tinker to much....:emoticon-0148-yes:

Good morning Glory from a overcast Bardsey
You mention research well I can tell you that Rickj Stein about 6 years ago on his programme mentioned that the best Fish Restaurant in the uk was the Magpie
I went on the day after New Years day to be confronted with at least 70 people queueing outside the café.It shows the strength of advertising
I had a friend who was a 747 captain and he said the best were in Califonia .I took him to the Magpie and after that he would motor up from his home in Kenley to go there for lunch
He passed away 2 years ago but he will always be remembered because he flew the first Jumbo jet into LBA and Humberside I was fortunate to travel on the jump seat and the crew and me travelled to Heathrow afterwards The plane was called the spirit of Yorkshire and was later bombed by Hussein

Of course they would be disasters,a decade or decades out of the game.Might as well get George Graham back. The next manager should be one with a track record of recent promotions from the championship using a squad of mainly inexperienced foreigners, Dyche or Howe for example. of course, they are completely out of our League but they type I believe we will need. I still consider Monk as best weve had in years, not a big job mind you. Any time Ive watched Leeds in last two months, they look like they are still in pre season, no idea where they are supposed to operate or what formation they are playing or even who the best eleven are

What do you mean by 'tinkers too much'? With the last managers you complained they 'only played their favourites' so what exactly do you want?

I have had dinner at Greens and its pricey and not in the same league as the Magpie I suggest you go on their site and see for yourself what a loyal following they have before you criticise them ahgain .BTW have you ever had the privedge to eat there or

We have taken the mother in law to the magpie on a number of times. It’s an old fashioned chippy and rammed full of coffin dodgers chomping away on pensioners specials. Fish, chips, sliced bread and a pot of tea... average day looks like an episode of last of the summer wine. Not really to my taste.

Different strokes for different folks I guess.

On a similar theme the Wetherby whaler is, was and always will be poor.
