Great game Scotland v Samoa which Scotland edged 5 tries to 4. Didn’t see the England win over Argentina.

A new looking Wales now trailing the very experienced Aussies early on, and looking very much second best.

Well as is widely known I know nothing, great Welsh try, they are trying to play running rugby.

Aussies beat the All Blacks recently so should be too strong for the Welsh. England rather laboured to an expected win over the Argies who are now on a long losing streak...

England were rather ponderous with slow phases. They'll have to be much, much better next week.

Ireland ruthlessly efficient against south Africa leading 14 - 0 at half time. Mind south Africa are a shadow of the side that have gone before them.....

But you can only beat what is put in front of you and Ireland are doing a good job so far and look as if they have another gear to go through....

The only down side is the bloody awful grey kit Ireland are wearing......

Wrong thread but a local colleague insisted that I try Czech Riesling a couple of days ago. It was excellent (dry) though my palate may have been less than sensitive after the large amounts of superb beer I had drunk. He did warn me never to drink Czech red wine though.

    Aussies strolling this.

I was at Twickenham today. What a horrible, dispiriting experience.

Well the game was ****, as you will know if you watched it, but that was incidental. I find the stadium itself to be an unpleasant, antiseptic, concrete monstrosity with no atmosphere and appalling facilities. I couldn't wait to get away from the place.

Didn’t watch the game but have to admit that I don’t like Twickenham much, but that’s mainly because of the fans, bearable if the game is good. The San Siro is a hideous concrete spaceship with virtually no facilities and I love it.

It's a long time since I was last at Twickenham and they have spent fortunes on the place in recent times, so I was expecting better. I won't be hurrying back.

If you watch England at Twickenham, you can reliably anticipate you'll hear Swing Low. Just as if you go to Loftus Road, you'll hear what to do with the blue flag, sung in a masterful chorus.

Yeah, I get that Goldie, but it's such a dirge (much like our national anthem). If only they'd sing something more rousing (Land of Hope & Glory or Jerusalem perhaps), or, if they have to sing Swing Low, at least do a couple more verses. I know more of the song, how come they seem not to?

Really pissed off that Ireland didn’t get the 2023 rugby World Cup. Imagine the craic. France is a better choice than South Africa though.

At least England voted for Ireland, the only one of the Six Nation’s countries to do so.

Meanwhile Deaf England beat the Deaf Blacks (seriously) 3-0 in their series. Wales are the world Deaf rugby champions but there hasn’t been a World Cup since 2002 because of cost. There is only one deaf team in England - England. The players are all regular RFU club players. Excellent.
