So we are coming to an end of the Transfer Window and IMO we have done good business so far but would like to add one or two more faces in the remaining 10 days to make our squad really strong and add more quality. But what positions do everyone think that we're add to? The obvious positions are CB and ST, but has anybody got some new names that they would like to see us sign? If rumours are true, then we have the funds to spend on players and that shows the trust in Adkins to sign the right players to make us competitive in this league. Has anyone heard any other rumours?
A young unproven striker could be good. Someone who doesn't demand immediate first team but could be good in the future.
I think Adam Le Fondre or Sam Baldock would be good. But someone proven in the Championship would be better.
Adkins has already reminded us that following the transfer window is the loan period. So no need to panic.
But isn't it the emergency loan window or can we sign players until the end of the season or January?
im not too worried about a ST (wont say no though). I know seaborne has had a good start but still think we desperatly need a top champ/prem CB for next year
On the loan window. i think its untill the end of next month. emergency loans, are all season (within reason) pompey will prolly make a few
I agree, if all our strikers stay fit for most of the season, we already have one of the best attacks in the league. I would also like a real quality CB but not too sure about who's out there.
we're in for a centre back and a winger apparently. players have been in and out of staplewood for medicals like theres no tomorrow.
I would absolutely love someone like Juan Agudelo or Marvin Sordell, both are lightening quick and have a real good technical ability. Neither have scored a huge amount of goals so far in their careers, but they're young and hungry and will develop with our team. I believe if they're guided by the right system and are allowed to mature in the right way then they both have the ability to become top-end Premier League players, and that's not an exaggeration. Plus we all know our football club has the foundations to be able to make a promising young player one of the best in the world - Bale, namely. But in truth, I really wouldn't mind if we didn't sign anyone else during this window. Look how our team has adapted to the Championship thus far, it's incredible. They've worked so hard over the summer especially the likes of Hammond and Martin. And in truth I just think it may be a better idea to sit tight with the money we've got and wait until January to see what players are available, and be able to of evaluated where we do really need to strengthen. Nic & Nige have earnt it - so... "In them we trust."
spoke to a security guard there, said 3 premier league players had medicals last week, 2 failed and one couldnt agree personal terms.
I know we have plenty of strikers but i just feel we could do with something a bit different up there,someone with a bit of pace as that is something we haven't got,Also definitely need a centre back to partner fonte,i think seabourne has done well but i think we need someone with a bit more experience.Think people are thinking with there feel good heads but when the dodgy games come along it'll be good to have a few different options.
