Theirs was late 90s I think Infact they went up beating the gills in the Play Off final... That's another game my step dad constantly whinges about the ref Pretty sure that was to do with added on time.
I just googled that League from 2009 - two completely different contrasts of fortune, I cannot believe how many teams in that league are now non league teams.
I was actually waiting for someone to mention that Forget Fergie ****ing time, Man City invented it before him!
Remember clear as day listening to our 6-0 win up there on the radio... that was the following season though when we went up,
Wasn't sure on that. You're right though: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_div_2/9354145.stm
Yeah just looked and it's mental really. Was closer than I remember at the bottom too! The following year that we went up had Bournemouth in it too... and now them, us, Brighton and Hudders are all in the PL. Crazy.
I'm surprised the amount of now non league teams were in that quality league at the time, Orient, Tranmere, Hartlepool, I think Stockport have disappeared to!
Bournemouths rise is incredible really. I used to go to Dean Court every other game back in the 90's and remember on several occasions people with donation buckets stood outside. They were so close to folding so many times back then.
Yeah Stockport plummeted straight from then back to back I believe. National League North now. Very sad what's happened at Orient.
Yeah I'm a bit young but we used to have collections for them at the Dell too didn't we? And they still call us scummers and try and manufacture a rivalry with us Off there in a few weeks, can't wait
Bloody Tranmere. Still haven't forgiven them for the 4-3 when we were leading 3-0. Paul bloody Rideout scored a hattrick.
