I actually watched the whole 45 mins....which is more than what usually happens. Entertaining....helps that it doesn't matter, so no anxiety issues.
Yeah, I bet too. Still, it's there just in case. Think about it. Henry wouldn't get away with his handball against the ROI to deny them entry into the World Cup, with VAR. Maradona wouldn't score against England. All those little and large injustices that eat away at supporters forever, and hopefully they are eliminated. Or if not eliminated, then reduced drastically.
Think the unthinkable will happen. 0-0 in the return. Then the players will get more than rotten tomatoes thrown at them.. Gabby might be happy to ply his trade here in the PL than incur the wrath that will envelope the Italians. I looked at the Italian team and it is not that youthful. The back three plus Buffon are all over 30, De Rossi is no spring chicken either. To my mind the Italian team lacks pace so even though Sweden will come under heavy pressure in the return, they should be capable of keeping Italy in front of them.
I have the England v Germany game on listening to the Spanish commentators. It has been a yawn Why do England play in the dullest kits ever seen? Best match of the night seems to have been Belgium and the team I would like to win el Mundial, Mexico.
Interesting game...debuts and chances for an experimental side against good opposition. Enjoyable....shame we couldn't snatch it at the end.
I disagree, it wasn't a yawn. it was quite interesting to see what the new lads could do. That post smacks of England aren't losing, what else can I moan about, oh yes the shirts are disappointing!
Didn't see the game but apparently Pickford and Loftus Cheek impressed. I'd be making Pickford our number 1 now. Copied from another thread... with the added thing about how positive it is to see Loftus Cheek do well as it's such a problem issue for us.
It lacked pace and intensity., but I will agree with you to some extent, Tammy Abraham looks a good prospect, very athletic and quick. Loftus-Cheek managed to get himself around a bit, Anyhow as I support Mexico, I feel I shouldn't be too critical of England, Just the shirts are so goddam awful. If England had put on pink shirts to go with the dark blue shorts and socks, then they would have looked a lot sharper.
I have just seen the goal of the night in two passes, From the keeper, to advanced midfielder to the striker and a goal ..........ladies handball!!!
He was only on for a few minutes. Was he that bad? Well Manchester City must have faith in him, even if you don't!!
First thing the commentators said was, "and Walker lost control of that..." next action he had the ball wide in space, allowed himself to be shut down before passing to their CF. he was awful against Lithuania. I just don't get him beyond very quick and tall.
