Yep, lots of reputations on the line at West Ham. None more so than Moyes himself. Last chance saloon for him really.

Even he doesn't want it. Not yet, anyway. It's a bit of a hiding to nothing appointment.
Having said that, if Northern Ireland can get to a play-off, then there's no reason that they can't.

Not sure about that, the Sunderland team didn't seem to work that hard last season and no idea how he alienated khazri who whenever i saw him play had flair and bundles of work rate. Instead he seemed to prefer his favourites and the likes of januzai who is a flair player but lazy and soft as **** and rodwell who frankly isn't very good

Fair points. He seemed to have given up on Sunderland before the season started, for some reason. ****ty attitude.
He seemed a little obsessed with ex-Everton and Man United players, for some reason. Hernandez should be playing every week, then! <laugh>
Interesting to see what he does with Arnautovic and Lanzini.

Build the team around Lanzini and pray he stays fit.

Get rid of Arnautovic to anyone who will take him ASAP. Absolute fraud of a footballer.

Lol dunno why but i rate Arnautovic.... he just needs the right manager like Di Canio (when he was a player). Technically superb, can hit a shot, can use either foot, isn't really pacey but has a burst and can dribble and he's really strong. A little inconsistent and has been on a downward trend of recent years even though he's still only 28. The only thing is he's a nutter so needs to be managed properly

I'm sort of halfway between these two comments. Arnautovic is clearly very talented, but he's lazy and undisciplined.
Maybe try three at the back, two up front, a fairly solid midfield and let him fight it out for the creative spot with Lanzini?
I wouldn't trust either of them in a wide role, as they don't do enough defensive work.

I was at the Austria V Hungary game at the Euros and he barely got beyond a jog the whole game. If he can’t be arsed for that he’s not going to care about an interim manager and keeping poxy West Ham in the league.

You're probably right. That's the challenge that Moyes has in front of him, though.

Then he might as well call Pienaar and Anichebe and get the band back together.

That worked so well with Sunderland...

He needs to be a lot braver with this job and stop trying to rely on players that he's already familiar with.
He brought in far too many crocks, has beens and nearly men at the Mackems.
His style requires fitness, discipline and hard work. That's not compatible with tired, aging, mentally suspect journeymen.

Of course, I was being flippant. They’re an old, not particularly fit team. I’m hopeful it’s a disaster.

Well, he's turned our fortunes around, team plays for each other as a unit and do a lot more running back than under Bilic. Team spirit looks good and Arnautovic has been one of our best players under Moyes. Also helps that he's put Adrian in goal, who is better than Hart by a margin.

Did the players down tools for Bilic or have they all of a sudden remembered how to play for each other?

He was too soft on them, rumour is that players were turning up late for training and not putting enough effort in, which translated to the pitch with an almost apathetic lack of effort. It may have caused a bit of resentment in the squad, but probably more likely that they stopped having respect for him. It's why I wasn't particularly unhappy at Moyes appointment, I thought he would give them the kick up the arse they needed and wouldn't pick people who weren't putting in the effort, which is what seemed to be happening, plus he has a bit more tactical nous. The players seem to have appreciated it and pulled together, probably as no one was getting away with laziness. The effect was almost immediately evident, even in the losses to Watford and Everton, and the noticeable increase in effort put the fans back onside. We were going down with Bilic, he looked a beaten man in his last month and the crowd were turning ugly.
