Tickets for the first in a series of Hall of Fame events are now on sale. The special evening, which will be held at the KCOM Stadium on the new date of Wednesday 31st January 2018, will see the Hall of Fame's inaugural inductees announced in front of an audience that will see past and present players and managers join with supporters on what is sure to be a memorable occasion. Full details of the event can be downloaded by clicking here, while tickets are now available to buy online here (please note that VIP packages have now sold out). Plenty of famous names and faces from the past have already confirmed their attendance on the night, and two players from the more recent tale of the Tigers will also now be joining us. Signed from Scunthorpe United in 2003, Andy Dawson was one of a number of additions during an ambitious summer recruitment programme by then manager Peter Taylor. Andy would go on to give ten years of service to the Tigers, during which time he helped the Club to win four promotions during one of the most successful periods in its history. Remembered for his tenacity and quality at left back, and his ability at free kicks, he played in the top four divisions of English football and made 317 appearances before being granted one more game - a testimonial fixture in 2013 where players and fans thanked him for his loyalty and service. A little over 12 months after Andy's departure, younger brother Michael arrived at the KCOM Stadium. Signed from Tottenham Hotspur, the former England international brought great experience to the Tigers' squad and captained the Club to promotion in 2016. He recently brought up a century of appearances in a black and amber shirt and remains a leader both on and off the pitch. We look forward to reliving some special times with all of our guests on the night, and you could be there amongst some of your favourite players from years gone by - to book your place click here or call 01482 358418. How disappointing. Some of my all time favourites, stalwarts of many years support, who cannot possibly be ignorant of the way the Allams have disfigured the club, alienated the supporters, and are directing the club only one way downwards. Sickens me to the core. What about us, the supporters, eh lads?
Maybe for one night only the Council should erect fences and gates just on their side of the SMCs land, all way round?
Dawson particularly. He's a great guy. He's also close to Barmby and knows very well how he was treated. And he himself was ****ed over by the Allams over his own testimonial match. Presumably being away from the club these guys aren't aware of the controversy of this hall of fame idea.
The club have just confirmed that the latest addition to the Hall of Fame attendees is Michael Dawson. Erm...
Not the hall of fame but a good idea for a worthy cause. Has anyone heard anything about the Hall Of Fame recently? I just checked the OWS and social media channels and the club don't seem to have mentioned it since Nov 8th (at which time VIP was sold out, but regular tickets were still available), the ticket page on the website pretends it's loading, but never does.
There is going to be an irony about this, celebrating players that have excelled at the club, whilst probably propping up the championship.
