SSN Dhamesh Seth just said we're doing all we can to bring Barton to LR.

Brilliant shout, Get him on a 'no trouble' contract and that will be just stellar.

    Love Tony Fernandes ;)

    hahahha.

Seriosuly though, Barton is a great player. A little bit of TLC from NW.

I'm pretty sure Barton hasn't had sex with his own family and locked them in a dungeon their whole life... Though I may be mistaken!

Please not Barton. Honestly guys, why do we want his sort? Not exactly the type to bring about dressing room cohesion, is he?

I get slightly worried that we may fill the team with psychopaths and premadonnas because they are good value...I'm overstating the case, but the principle concerns me

We're not everyones cup of tea anyway so can't hurt

He's a character for sure, but he can play and football would be a dull place without players like him, sign him up Warnock! :emoticon-0148-yes:

Remember another manager who used to take on 'bad boys' many years ago and turned them into a Championship winning side?

Cloughy had the knack of man-managing down to a fine art, if any manager has that knack it's Warnock. Barton is the type of midfield general we're crying out for and he'd be as good as Parker if not better...

He may be a useful player, but does not appear to be a pretty appetising human being. It would be nice to see clubs taking a stance and not excusing the "other stuff" just because a player knows how to kick a ball.

I still reckon he'd deck Adel within a week.

Well it's a challenge - many have tried with Barton, and no one has succeeded yet. The guy is bright and articulate, and an undoubted football talent and motivator, but he just has this knack of continually getting himself into trouble, including with his own teammates and his own club

I'm with Sooper on this... We all know JB has previous for beating up teamates/drunks outside nightclubs. That is out of order, but there is no doubt (imo) that he is one of the best Central Midfielders in the country, and If NW can keep him out of bother off the pitch then I'm absolutely certain he will be an asset on it.

He has always done the business, despite having horrid personal problems. Arm round him, give him the armband and we're just about guarenteed Prem survival this season. ;)

Believe me i would never excuse his bad behaviour. And there need to be some escape clause in his contract on our part. But i believe in second (and third and fourth and so on... kidding) chances, maybe a change in scenery and being managed by the man manager himself might do the boy some good (ourself included).

We're not a charity though, why should QPR have to be the club to give him his 5th/6th/7th chance?
Surely if you have two identical players, A and B, but A beats up his team mates and members of the public, you'd pick B?
I'd hope we have the cash to afford B now, i really don't think there's any reason left why we'd want Joey Barton.
Back when Flav and co were withholding funds, getting damaged good for cheap was more of a priority.
Do we really want Qpr fans walking around with Barton shirts, and pictures of him with his arm round Kids' shoulders in the programme.
He wouldn't just be a player, he'd be a representative of the club.
I like our current players, and don't think they deserve to have to train or room with a criminal.

He WAS a bit of a scumbag. He's a Robbie Savage-esque pantomine villain nowadays which masks the fact that he's actually a very useful footballer. I honestly don't think he'd be disruptive in the dressing room and his performances for Newcastle so far this season have been exemplary.

Good player but in the long run he'd do more harm than good imo.

Excellent player, even at Prem level and would be an asset.
