What's the legitimate use of this type of thing if a company like Samsung is sticking it on their tv's?
I'm enjoying it. As you say, loads of references to great classic sci-fi and horror films, especially Alien
just watched Alien 1 and 2. First 1 was brilliant. 2nd one was very very good all action army and then borders ridiculous at the end although it was a great ride Alien 1 - 9/10 Alien 2 - 6.5/10
I never really enjoy fight scenes as they always look fake anyway. Only thing really bugging me about TWD atm is the endless supply of ammo.
I was quite glad when Rick ran out of ammo, the other ****ers were spraying that stuff around like they had truck loads of it.
might have watched bits of it when i was younger. Not watched it properly and certainly have no recollection. Been going through all the classics this past year and a bit: Think i was inspired when i saw rambo first blood on tv and thought wow haven't seen any of this **** Then watched, terminator 1, lost in translation, pulp fiction, blade runner, star wars 4,5,6, etc Not sure i liked the end to Aliens - the chasing after the little girl, the way she fights off the aliens relatively easily, the way the alien gets sucked out but she climbs up from space . Deffo not as good as Alien
The direction, production, structuring and overall storytelling absolutely ruins this show. It's a shame because the story itself is still quite interesting but it's just the way they're delivering it that is a total mess I don't like how they've decided this season to make Rick's group's attack on the Saviours the focus for the entire first half of the episodes, it's causing big problems with the fight scenes as they are drifting and lacking intensity and focus. The endless ammo also bugged me, it's not long ago they were counting every single bullet What's also a massive problem is Jesus' morality/mercy crusade out of nowhere. It's completely misplaced and makes no sense, especially when the other crews of soldiers are killing Saviours indiscriminately and even Rick isn't moved to say anything to Daryl after he takes the guy down after Rick has given his word they'll let him live. As if this guy would be allowed to do this in a war, somebody would report him and he'd be ordered away and probably punished This week's was the weakest episode by far. The ordering of the Ezekiel/Carol scenes was a disaster and made all that really unclear. Then they tried to force Eric's death to be a big thing for the audience when it patently wasn't since he has had virtually no development, he's just more visible collateral ... then the whole is-he-isn't-he dead / a walker was a stupid move. There are character's who've had far less screen time like Tobin who the audience is probably more invested in Also the Morales return was a damp squib in the end. It was fine they brought him back, even only for that short amount of time, and I really liked how Daryl just took him out because of course, but using him just to have that same old 'everybody's a monster' debate was so lazy and contrived
As much as I'm a fan of the show I agree, it's on a downward spiral, don't think there's any saving it. The problem lies in that there's no ending in sight so we're just expected to watch this until we all get bored and it gets cancelled. It's not fair on fans of the show for them to milk it like this and not care if it gets the axe with no finale for the fans.
I still like the show but they do need to look at where it's all going, there is so much bad now it's outweighing the good. The Morgan Jesus fight was well done but I was just wondering how it went that far? Just didn't seem right. I didn't even recognise the Morales fella and can't remember his story so it was all lost on me.
It (guns galore) starts to calm down a bit after the fourth episode. I'm not that bothered about the end game atm, I still love the show and want it to carry on but I do understand the point you're making; how long can they drag the Negen fight out? where do they go after killing Negen? Etc PS... I ignore FedLad when talking TWD. He's been moaning about it since s01e01!!!
I think it's something you have to buy into and I'm on board. The comics are still going so there really is no end in sight. I'll keep watching but would be pissed off of it ever gets cancelled without a finale.
Its cause the walking dead is ****. I can see it as a show that will go on and on and on as its the sort of show with no end game
