Urrrgh. Coz the only thing that people have constantly said this season, that Everton got wrong. Is they didn't sign enough number 10's/ACM.
This from the ESPN article on the story- "The creative midfielder has scored four goals and laid on five assists in 17 games in all competitions for Norwich so far this season. He won September's Goal of the Month in the Championship for a stunning strike in the win against Middlesbrough and he has been nominated for the Championship Player of the Month for the last two months."
This on Moyes from an article on the BBC website: "The manager began talking of a relegation battle (for Slumderland) just two games into the season; it became a self-fulfilling prophecy. He had limited money to work with, but appeared to fall back on an unimaginative policy of signing his former Everton players, bringing in Steven Pienaar, Victor Anichebe, Joleon Lescott, Bryan Oviedo and Darron Gibson." So, he's guaranteed to be in for Naismith on January 2nd, then!!
6 now withdrawn from the England squad. It's almost like they don't take international football seriously, or like their club football is all that matters. 3 from Spurs, 2 from Man City and 1 from Liverpool.....Strange.
Interesting article about where to deploy Maddison for maximum effect, as he's being largely snuffed out of some games as things stand. http://norwichcity.myfootballwriter...bled-so-time-to-ask-some-different-questions/
as I responded, it is an interesting idea, but will it further expose our soft underbelly? We are bad enough without Tettey but still with two DM's in Reed and Trybull, use Maddison instead of one or other and arn't we going back to plan A that was so cruelly exposed early in the season? What we're doing ain't working, but is this the right fix? Maybe, probably worth a try, offense can be the best form of defence. With all that said, I think we are generally buggered until a number of the important injured players return, Tettey and Oliviera in particular but Pritchard could certainly add to the mix too. Bah!
Question: How come, with all the "injury" pull outs. But, even before all that guff. Before injury replacements were needed. Why is Newcastle Captain, Leader, Man Of The Match often, goal scoring Centre Back, increasingly impressive Jamaal Lascelles nowhere near this squad again!? Is it maybe because he's from recently promoted Newcastle? I bet, if he was at Man City, and came on for the last 10 minutes in 1 cup game this season. He'd be starting these upcoming friendlies.
To add to my last post. I'm very happy Tammy getting a call up, and also Joe Gomez and Ruben getting call ups. These are good things. With the amount of "big players" for their "big Clubs" pulling out. I would have LOVED to see Garath call up Foden and Brewster. They are only friendlies. I would have really got on board with Southgate if he bumped up them 2 to train with the squad and called up Jamaal. Even if we lost and played as usual. I'd feel better about it, that we were giving these kind of players a chance.
Ebou Adams called up for Gambia National Team. Will be great experience for him. Congratulations Ebou!
Anyone planning to watch N'Iron vs Switzerland tonight? At least it will be competitive and have something riding on it - unlike an England makeshift, hastily cobbled together XI vs Brazil and Germany.
I see now Drinkwater has moved to Chelski, he's turned down an England call up. I wonder how many of these would have pulled out, if this was the first game of the World Cup.
