Where do you get that from?
Chelsea won it last year and finished 10th the season before!

Apologies I'm not a Chelsea fan so I was under the impression they finished below half way rather than exactly half way.

Good job you have your eye on the ball so to speak.

You are pedantic 1 above the bottom half but the argument is still perfectly valid

Not really - He asked why Orta is doing a bad job and I gave him 3 valid reasons - obviously didn't like the answer so went off piste for some reason only known to him!!

I know you get the logic in the comparison? Basically a team needs time to form, as Chelseas team did and I suspect yours too. This year we may not win the European Championship, obviously, but getting a team together and sticking with them and adding and tuning is far better than wholesale changes. You know this, you just like stirring up the populace

You're very astute as I'm just booking a skiing trip for xmas as it happens.

You gave 3 opinions...which some may agree or disagree with but their validity is not yours alone to decide !

Exactly my point - you finished 7th last season and only needed a few good players - but Orta went for wholesale changes which saw you buy 15 new players - and not one of them was a left back!!

You have a point but unless you jump in the Mighty time machine we are where we are. You will find that the best laid plans of mice and men don't always work out.

Put it this way, you spent £20M in the Summer - would you be happy with giving Orta another £20M to spend in January?

I don't think we will need to spend that amount. It isn't my 20 mil it's Radz and if he has confidence to trust him to make investments of that nature then that's his call. I'm not 100% convinced we have the team right yet but we have good players, coach etc and they need the comodity of time.

OK I will say it. if we are in this league next year with the same set up and organisation I will be very content, not as happy as if we get promotion, but still very happy and a wee bit smug.

    OK let the insults begin

If I had my "eye on the ball" I would have pointed out that of that Chelsea team that finished 10th

    Manager Hiddink - moved on
    Oscar - moved on
    Salah - moved on
    Perica - moved on
    Marin - moved on
    Traore - moved on
    Remy - moved on
    Pasalic - moved on
    Ivanovic - moved on
    van Ginkel - moved on
    Kalas - moved on
    Hector - moved on
    Falcao - moved on
    Djilododgi - moved on
    Cuevas - moved on
    Obi Mikel - moved on
    Delac - moved on
    Atsu - moved on
    Pantic - moved on

Seems my reasoning was spot on (as per usual <cheers>)

I can't really be fused checking all those names but one point Conte was pulling the strings even though Hiddink was the named manager - he was just looking after the team until Conte could take over full time. so as usual not right.

CBJ is a left back, possibly not as good as we thought he would be as he is from the scum, but a LB nonetheless.

Saiz brought in for more creativity and decided that Phillips / Vieira would be the midfield generals backed up by Klich though TC doesn't seem keen on him.

Alioski brought to play on the wing, can argue on pacey and final ball but he started off well.

Brought in Lasogga who was on the verge of a national call up until injury and has shown glimpses that he can score goals with the right service.

Now you can definitely debate about the quality of the signings but to say the areas weren't addressed is you talking your usual ****e <ok>

Reflecting on what @Leedsoflondon says above.

We were all excited on the opening day of the season, we'd actually signed players rather than journey man loans. We secured Pontus, I wasn't sure on Lasogga but on paper he should have been far better than he was.

Four weeks in we all thought we had managed to sign real quality. Yes we finished just outside the top but many of the starting 11 are last seasons players and Saiz would walk into any championship team.

I'm quite happy with Alioski, he has something about him and I think he will be a better player next season. O'Kane, Phillips, Vieira, Hernandez, Roofe, Dallas were all last seasons players.

We got rid of Bridcutt, Diacouraga, Murphy, Doukara, Botaka
We brought in Saiz, Klich, Cibicki, Alioski

No idea what's going on with Cibicki and Klitch mind you.
