It’s not just about the UK though, in my mind anyway The whole story is about how super rich round the world avoid paying taxes that others around the world would benefit from
The ones who are "simply making do", are doing so because they can't be arsed to go out and work for a better life or financial freedom (not in all cases I know but a good majority), the people at the top are there Becuse they have worked hard to get there! Everyone can better there situation and themselfs if they want to with hard work patience and a plan! To many people are happy to make do and then whinge about those who don't just sit around and do the same
Well he was given a VAT refund that he shouldn't have been given and the isle of man have called in the British governent to help them with this.
And those who inherit huge trust funds without doing anything? Anyway I think both ends of the argument are too simplistic. The truth is somewhere between, but whichever way you look at it if super rich avoid taxes then that means there is less cash out there for people to ‘work hard’ to earn so less to go round
You don't get to the top of business and stay there by having it handed to you.....i can't stand "rich kids" Paris Hilton etc, or any person who's rich and or famous for nothing more then being on reality TV for having no self respect and doing dumb things just to stay in on the D list... But that's a debate for another day!!!
Super rich pay no tax. Record low employment, massaged figures, a lot of part time jobs, all earning under £13K a year, paying no tax. Just the squeezed middle paying more and more and more. Goodnight, off to my night shift.
If the Isle of Man didn’t offer the terms they do, he wouldn’t have bought a jet there is the first place.
Just to clarify. A person goes out and earns £30,000 A year would pay about £3,500/£4,000 A year in tax!! Yet someone on a tv show can earn £300,000 in the same period can pay zero tax. She is not creating wealth for anybody but herself!! Is this a correct way of going on.??
Those who have trust funds and just live of them and bring nothing to the table, I have no respect for at all. I agree it's probably somewhere in the middle, it's never going to be fair, but life isn't fair. I'll look after me and my own and do that any way possible, if I can pay less tax legally at any point I will do it
I think your argument ignores circumstance, ability and opportunity; that in itself is a deeply worrying thing.
He bought it elsewhere and registered it in the Isle of Man. Flew in, signed the papers and flew out again according to the 6 O'clock news. The Vat people even got up early so he didn't have to wait around.
If you don't have the ability.....go learn and improve If you don't have a opportunity.....go make yourself one or find one
Indeed and if they weren’t offering the best deal, he’s have flown off to whatever country did and that almost certainly wouldn’t be in the UK.
You get that from the fact I don't respect people who live of trust funds and do sod all for themselfs? But have massive respect for people who have worked their way to the top?..... Strange but fair enough Just FYI I look down at nobody, I deal with people from front line workers to MD's to company owners Every single day, from people living in small rented flats to millionaires..... I have the utmost respect for all of them if they deserve it and earn it by working hard in whatever they do! The people I have no time for are the ones who do nothing, expect everything and blame everyone else for their situation
You didn' answer my question about paying tax on earnings !! PS I also have no time for people that deliberately avoid working
