I've just gone on line and ordered Animal Farm! Seriously, I need to reignite my hatred of Allam's.

Most people will avoid paying tax where they can, it's generally just the numbers that vary.

Companies use accountants to make sure their liabilities are limited as much as possible, the self-employed often offer a cheaper price to do a job for cash, most people see nothing wrong with doing a guvvy, or buying smuggled cigs and booze.

Most people don't see these things as an issue when they do it themselves, just as they don't see anything wrong with buying fake goods, shopping at places they know pay **** all tax, or places they know pay people in Bangladesh a pittance to make their products (something I think is far worse than avoiding tax).

But those issues you think are far worse than tax avoidance are likely to directly affect your specific business OLM. I wouldn't agree with your summary, but then I aren't directly affected by those issues.
It does piss me off governments are keen to criminalise those at the bottom of the 'food chain' earning a few extra quid by working in the black economy and yet not closing tax avoidance 'scams'. But then that would be penalising their own wouldn't it.

Just read everything Bob has written on here and imagine the polar opposite if you're curious what I think of all this.

I wasn’t just referring to the clothing business, it applies to any and all products nowadays.

Also they often create jobs with their horrific quest to make money... People even have to work at making them pay less. Suppose its often legal.

I get that but what I am trying to say is those issues are so important to you because of your clothing business. I find the tax avoidance system disgusting. The establishment (governments) clearly don't because many have a very vested interest.

Just starting to watch the second part on Panorama tonight.

What I don't understand is where does the £3.3m come from in the Isle of Man?

Is that what those living there pay to the Isle of Man government.

The other thing .... some ****er must have had a hell of a grudge to leak all those millions of papers. Or, was the leak (exploiting those with loads of money) paid loads of money to leak?

Greedy selfish bastards, which reminds me .....

    ALLAMS OUT!!!

That Richard Bilton. Wonder if he looks over his shoulder much?

He must be ruffling one or two feathers of those toffs, who might want him to shut up.

In the same way that Chelsea Headhunters let Donal McIntyre know they he should have kept quiet.

All this lot reminds me of something a Yank politician said once (one of the Bushes I think) ... there are things you know you know, and things that you know you don't know. And things you don't know you know and other things you don't know you don't know.

Some ****er spends £200k on wine. Jesus H Christ.

I don't know how some of the ****ers can sleep at night.

NHS problems through lack of funding.

    Armed Forces face cut backs.

Police Ambulance and Fire Services struggling.

    State of the ****ing roads.

****ing about with schools or academies or whatever they're called now.

All because the very rich get richer by not paying tax.

They haven't started on football yet (owners, players agents) so perhaps time for me to turn off.

    ****ing disgraceful

Howden - how will he though? Serious question & realise I might be missing the bleeding obvious.

If he's got advisors telling him how to raise £3.3m for doing, well, not much. Then why (or how) would he be paying more to the UK?

If those silly bastards off Mrs Browns Boys can disguise their income, wouldn't Lewis as well?

The tax he paid on his UK earnings before he moved to Monaco ( I think that's where he lives now) and the own going tax he will pay will be huge, although I may possibly be wrong myself, only going on people I've known in my time earning money in that way

No they are not loopholes. They are services or facilities Joe Public needs, but don't get sufficient money to fund, because of those finding loopholes.

There's nowt wrong with people working their arses off, my old man did but at least he paid his dues.
