I think Bilic is a decent bloke, sort of Dyche like the way he tells it how it is. The interview Bilic gave on BBC was really sad, he knows his number is up.
Morning all from a sunny but quite chilly part of the country. There have been the usual pops and bangs for a Sunday morning at this time of the year. Not fireworks, but the locals removing some of the rats that are attracted to the feed stores for the animals that are kept within the barns. A dinner invitation was accepted by my wife, not realizing that the game was today. Hope that I can log on to the WiFi when the time comes.
http://www.independent.co.uk/news/w...ilson-county-death-a8039191.html?S2ref=641648 Yet another mass shooting in America, I see - you have to wonder when - or if - the government there will wake up.
Foggy start to a bright but cold day. Car now sorted and another two years before it needs to be inspected by the MOT people. I need to do plenty of jobs, but tempted to put the heating on and settle down in comfort.
Probably a bit of both - America has lots of guns, lots of nutters, lots of ex servicemen trained in the use of guns, and lots of junkies, all in all a toxic combination. The Swiss also have lots of guns but they don't get used.
Been chatting to my friend in Dorset whose younger son owns a pub/hotel in Somerset. He lost his 4 EU staff when they went home at the end of August, and despite offering 50% above minimum wage, hasn't had a single application for a job. He also relies on Uni students during the holidays, but of course they are not available at the moment. There is a downside to having full employment in any country.
Do you have to pay any tax at all in Jersey when Apple are supporting the island? http://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-41889787
Morning all, the first frost of the season overnight, and I can see that the walnut tree across the road has started to drop it's leaves. I bought a small heater to go in the greenhouse just to keep the frost at bay. Last night was the first time it had been called into action, and I am pleased to say it appears to have done the job.
If the question had been posed by certain other members of this forum, I wouldn't have been able to provide a dignified response, but for the majority I can. We have what is known here as GST - our equivalent of VAT (or in your case OFH, TVA). It is "only" 5% but it is on everything - there aren't any exempt or zero-rated goods here. Our income tax used to be a bill on an annual assessment, but now we have ITIS (Income Tax Instalment System), which is basically PAYE, and the rate is based on the figures in your return, so they haven't got rid of that completely. Those are the 2 main taxes that islanders have to pay plus our Social Security contributions.
