Genuine question - why, after all the qualification group games (bar play-offs) have been completed, do we need yet another international break? Surely not just for a couple of irrelevant friendlies?
Our team need a break. So do us fans. It's been so bloody depressing. Even though its an international break, which are also pretty depressing.
Do you reckon Warky has a gig on the side writing football blogs? https://www.twtd.co.uk/blogs/21691/...-of-love-with-ipswich-or-have-i-just-grown-up
Pinto plays through the pain and will do so again http://carrowroad.net/index.php?pos...-pinto-set-for-surgery-in-international-break
This is clearly nowhere near good enough. And yes, Jerome, I'm pointing at you But as MB points out, a new striker in January would probably mean adios to either Maddison or Pritchard. Where's a morsel, just for once, of external funding when you really need it. And yes Delia, you stubborn cow, I'm pointing at you http://www.pinkun.com/norwich-city/michael-bailey-six-things-norwich-lose-at-bolton-1-5266503
Hardly a major shock to anybody. But they've been in talks with Moyes, who failed dismally at Real Sociedad and then took Slumderland down last season
Moyes hasn't pulled up any trees recently, but for a long time he was a steady influence at Everton and his work was good enough for Fergie to recommend him to United. That job was definitely too big for him, but I still see him as a potentially good manager, will wet sham give him enough time to prove it? I doubt it, but they have a squad with some good players, a good manager should be able to stabilise them to mid table and Moyes may well be the man for that. The hammers board at least outwardly talk of loftier ambitions than survival, is he the best man for that? I'm not so sure. Bah!
No he isn’t imo, these “old school” managers have had their day! What they need to do is get in some complete unknown from the German 4th division or the Scottish highland league!! That’s the way forward............apparently!?
No he isn’t imo, these “old school” managers have had their day! I disagree, but whether you employ one or not depends on your goals. Employ an old skool; Pulis, Colin, fat Sam or Even McCarthy and you can more often than not grind out results and stay in a division whilst watching some other poor saps relegated after trying some exotic option to play better football and do a Leicester. There is always space in the game for unspectacular organise and motivate style managers. What they need to do is get in some complete unknown from the German 4th division or the Scottish highland league!! That’s the way forward............apparently!? LOL, what manner of buffoon would appoint such left field candidates! Bah!
I was talking to someone who knows one of the Colney groundstaff and it seems highly likely that one of those 2 will be sold in January.
I started a thread about it recently, though that focused on Madders as Pritchard is still not playing. But he will be, hopefully, by the time the window "slams" open
I think it would be better for Maddison's education to complete the season with us and go in the summer if we have to lose him. If he does well with U21's, it could be very difficult to hold him back with the offers that would come in. ps. I don't believe the figure of £20 mil being bandied about recently.
He's on a long term contract and January prices are always inflated so who knows? It's not likely to be like Jacob with only one bidder, JM is hot property and hopefully if we are to lose him it will be on our terms for a kings ransom. I don't want to see him go but if Pritchard is back then with him and Hoolihan we are still well stocked. Could even sell him with a half season loan back. Bah!
Good, thoughtful post, General. I hope you're right about JM's January valuation if it comes to that.
lots of rumours that he is the leading contender, but I can't find any confirmation. If he can't bring Everton safety then who could? Bah!
Moyes to West Ham seems such a disaster of an appointment. How on earth did he get that job so promptly. Especially after United, Valencia and Sunderland! Big Sam to Everton would be perfect! He was my first thought when they sacked the Koeman. He can get them defending, he has big attacking players already there to give him a balance. Plus, he will have money to play with. I think he could turn that club into what most of us thought Everton might be this season.
