Good Morning Everyone Lets have a look at the Brentford team... please log in to view this image On paper, realistically, how many of them (bar Bentley) would have got in the Leeds squad, let alone the starting XI at the beginning of the season? Tommy Smith has told Sky Sports, during their coverage of Leeds United’s match against Brentford, that TC's side’s poor form could be down to their fixture list! The Sky Sports pundit said: “I was looking to the fixtures and they were very kind to them. “In the last six or seven games they have played teams in the top five or six and perhaps this is them finding out where they are as a team.” Agree? According to newspaper reports TC could make as many as 9 changes for their next game at home v Boro. Leeds have 13 days to prepare for this must win game. Leeds keeper Peacock Farrell enjoyed his first win between the sticks for York City at the weekend. Fourth appearance - first win. Time for a recall?
Morning Elland and all. International break thankfully. Would be interesting to see nine changes against Boro though can’t see it helping. One worry I have. Rad has clearly been a breath of fresh air and an astute businessman, improving almost everything around the club. But what if, he actually is clueless about organizing the football end of things. It’s possible and no fault of his. He then appoints someone equally clueless in Orta but naturally Rad won’t see it. I’m not blaming the guy but it is a distinct possibility
York City play in what used to be called the conference north... PF isn’t the only one of our squad that belongs at that level. Harrogate Town are top of that league and gave York a lesson a few weeks back.
It's really helpful to have the intial comments synthesised and turned into dregs ...... not Evening all and a happy Monday to all
Let’s stick to facts shall we. All the false positives are utterly futile. Now if you can point out one inaccurate word in my post feel free.
p]#77**Good Morning to Matt and co from a very sunny but cold Bardsey These posters who posture with their so called names remind me of cockerills preening themselves and basking in Glory when they seem to be proved right as we know time will tell The team we played on Sat turned up for their cup final and won ,They won most 50-50 balls funny enough one of their subs we tried to buy Sergio Canos would have fitted in well for us I cannot see 9 changes and I think that would be too knee jerk for me Did we sign another goalkeeper recently lets try him and what is wrong with Klitch Finally if you are still waiting to leave Southampton bon voyage WJ s
Good morning everyone,i still think this side can/will play better than results suggest,i know we keep going back to the early season first six or so results, but we did not just beat those lower sides,we totally dismantled/battered them it was so impressive i almost felt sorry for them as we have said before anyone can beat anyone in this league, but as impressively as we did on that run ? hmm i don't know.Unfortunatley something happened before the millwall game that i am sure, but what it was i do not know, however TC should have sorted this out and he has not,he has had long enough now.Radz now needs to be ruthless & look at the whole managerial set up to protect what he has done for the club so far & to get those early stars playing exciting football again, because they are capable of that i am sure
Morning Mike. How many times over the years have we used the excuse of us being a cup final to other teams so the up their game. We should have conceded in the first minute due to awful defending and were lucky not to concede 6, crossbars struck and missed penalties while we struggled to string three consecutive passes together. Its all about opinions but were making every team look good at the moment. Youre right about the 9 changes, we dont really have that many alternatives unless we field the team that played Leicester which wasnt really a great success
Morning Eire, I have to admit that Leeds performanes in the last couple of games have been better then our previous 5. We did not deserve to lose against Derby and the scoreline on Saturday flattered Brentford. I was surprised to read an article this morning blaming Ayling for a lot of our woes.
Morning SW, totally agree plus there are no easy fixtures in this league. Hopefully this break will give TC the opportunity to do some team bonding as they are not working for each other.
There is one easy fixture in this league now that TC has got to grips with coaching them. Orta buys poor players and tc makes em worse..
Morning all. Here is my take on things... TC over analyzed and overreacted to the defeat by Millwall. Up until that point, all was serene and we were playing good possession based football. Even though we bounced back with a cup win at Burnley and a home win against Ipswich he couldn't stop thinking about the Millwall defeat. So when we faced Cardiff he felt he had to change tack and left Siaz and Lassoga on the bench. Both those players had played well the previous match and should have played. Shaughnessy was also left out which was another mistake as he had played an absolute blinder against Ipswich. Hindsight is a wonderful thing but since Klich stood on the ball and Cooper recklessly got himself sent off our season thus far has turned into a game of hokey pokey with players coming in and then out again. A settled side, confidence and belief all cast aside because of one poor showing against a more direct side. TC if you're reading/listening this is your last chance to stick to your beliefs. Do things your way, do not listen to others around you such as DOF or ex players etc etc. You were right all along and you changed your strategy which is now in danger of costing you your job and more importantly the fantastic opportunity you have been given.
Morning all... I was surprised Ayling got such a bashing and equally surprised that two different reports picked out Vieira as head and shoulders above the rest in our previous two games? I'm not saying he was bad but he never stood out for me either.. Our biggest problem this season... Our keepers are not a patch on how Green performed last season and Wood was head and shoulders above Lasogga. I have a feeling too many players are no longer playing their natural game. Ayling is being asked to press forward, left midfield being asked to cover left back, defence cautious as no faith in the keeper, players shooting from too far out as they know Lasogga isn't going to find space and will win little in the air.
We were never going to be as tight defensively this season as last. Monk played with two holding midfielders and set up not to lose. TC plays to win... when we give the ball away our players are in more advanced positions. It’s not so critical if you’re dominating possession and creating chances... currently we’re not. It doesn’t help defensive confidence when both your keepers are Draculas and we were flattered defensively last season by monks formation. Re Brentford... other than being on a fairly long unbeaten run, they were really unlucky in a lot of games at the start of the season and shot themselves in the foot a few times, if you read the match reports they are one of the better teams in this league and deserve to be in the top 6. We were the better side second half, against them, we won at Bristol City who no-one else can get near at the moment. There are glimpses, but it’s too sporadic and when you’re down nothing goes your way.
I see that Villa want to offload M ac Contract Henry Lansbury and the boy they bought for 12m from Brentford Hogan Lansbury is a very strong player who has goals in him at£3m worth a punt and Hogan has had some really bad injuries so £2m would not be a gamble Macontract not worth anything in my mind let someone else have trouble
