The Guardian have printed the full details of an interview with Mauricio Pochettino. Others have cut and pasted his comments to suit their agendas, that he will be managing Real Madrid, Barcelona or PSG within days or weeks. The full interview is very, very different, as is our manager..........We're truly blessed to have him at our club and despite the baseless and wild imaginings of the ravening hacks of the gutter press, he's going to be staying.

“When you win against Real Madrid or have good results in the Champions League or the Premier League, it’s normal that we are in the spotlight if a big club wanted to change something inside. For me, it only produces a big satisfaction. I feel proud about Tottenham and I feel proud about the players. In the end, that situation happens because the players are performing well, scoring goals and we are winning games.”

“I don’t want to lie, always, I want to be honest and I say: ‘I don’t think about tomorrow. I don’t think about next season.’ Because it doesn’t depend only on me, it depends on many circumstances. And it’s so important to be respectful and prudent, cautious and intelligent.”

“The most important club in the world is Tottenham and it is the best club in the world. I need to feel like this and that emotion is real because I cannot be fake. It’s too difficult to create the trust if you don’t really believe and it’s not real, that emotion. Today, Tottenham is in my head 100%. Today, I do not change Tottenham for another position in the world because I am so involved, so focused.

“The club deserves to have people that think only about the club, the fans, the players and the structures – and they provide us with an unbelievable life. It’s important to recognise that. It’s an amazing club and it’s so important for us to pay back the club for the way that they treat us.”

“Before I arrived to Tottenham, everyone said to me: ‘It’s so difficult to have a very good relationship with Daniel but I have discovered a great man. I feel that he trusts in me and I trust him. I don’t care what happens around myself because I know very well that I am so happy here and we have a great relationship.

“It’s not about winning or losing – it’s about trust. And when you achieve that at a club like Tottenham, with massive potential, you have to create something together. You have to create a project. I believe in what we are doing and I believe we can build a fantastic team that can achieve all that we dream.”

“It’s more to enjoy the journey [to it] with Daniel, I speak every day with him and you feel how he cares about everything. It is impossible not to feel proud and be excited about the future of Tottenham.

“I cannot speak because I was never at that type of club [Real Madrid]. If you read my book [Brave New World], you will understand that maybe I am not a person in football whose motivation is only himself. I love to work and feel part of the project; to share and create something special. I feel very important at Tottenham, very comfortable and I enjoy the journey a lot. Today, I don’t think about a future elsewhere.”

“That is the key. It is not only the facilities, it is how Daniel is driving that project. A few weeks ago, myself, Jesús and my staff were at the new stadium with Daniel and the architect, and you can feel that it is not just an empty structure – there is a soul and love; there is care in every single detail. That is what excites me the most.”

His attachment to Southampton changed when their board changed and the guy who brought him to Southampton (who he worked closely with and trusted) left in December 2013. He had to be talked out of quitting immediately but it was reported that it was only a matter of time before he left.

It's funny how people, usual rival fans, forget these details when commenting on Spurs management.

    <laugh>

    Not everybody thinks like that.

So he has never left any other club before and is at Spurs for life?
Really, it's just a job for him like yours is for you. A better offer and he will be off like any other manager/player.

Suggests that if he does leave it won't be because he wants to...something would have to change. As in his relationship with Levy, not his wage packet.

@Diego would swap Poch for Mourinho today.

So would Sir Ferguson. Probably before going down the graveyard with me for some Thunderbird wine.

No doubt Fergie sees Pochettino as a good future.

But sadly for them, Spurs are in the middle of a "perfect storm"
both on and off pitch that makes Pochettino near unreachable.

And that is without including the issue of dealing with Levy. :)

    <applause>

Love the guy more with each passing day. Such a breath of fresh air in the suffocating superficiality of the modern game.

Also good to know Jesus manifests himself in north london to accompany Poch and Levy on stadium tours. I feel more confident we'll be finished in time with him on board.

Think of the money Levy will make on match day catering
(feeding 60K with just five loaves and two fishes) .

It's nice to see Pochettino speaking so positively about the club and chairman, but I actually agree with @Diego .
I think that the manager's got to have an eye on the future and what possibilities are available to him.
He may well look to leave for a better opportunity, if one becomes available.

That leads us onto an obvious question, though: What's a better opportunity than the Spurs job, right now?
Madrid and Barca both look highly unlikely, as the former goes for bigger, more proven names and the latter promotes from within.
Pochettino's still won nothing as a manager and he couldn't be further from a Barca insider if he tried.
Bayern? It's possible, but he's no experience of Germany and noises from over there suggest that Klopp's their target.

Who does that leave? English clubs and Italians, mostly.
Can't really see an Italian club coming in for him that would be an upgrade, to be honest.
England? Utd's a big risk and they already have a big name. City's the same. Chelsea? Conte just got rid of Emenalo.
Certainly nothing else worth looking at, from his point of view. Sideways moves, at best.

So where could he go? The only prospect that really bothers me is PSG.
Tons of cash, loads of big names and he played for them, so they've got a connection already.
The league would be a step down, but they're the major threat, for me.

Cannot see him consider going to another PL club
unless something very bad happens to Spurs as a club.

PSG are a big worry though (as PNP said) .
