They most probably will take their customary step down to the next division soon and quite FRANKly I don't suppose they'll be missed. Just another mediocre part of the dross that exists in the PL outside of the top six. Hardly an interesting match to watch today. Stoke v Leicester, Newcastle v Bournemouth etc etc...................dross. Burnley, hmmmmm.
I had a soft spot for them in the Harry Redknapp era, as they played some good stuff and had a good approach to youth and finding hidden gems (that were often VERY handy for fantasy football teams) - although their boardroom was Bellend Central even then.
I don't remember any boards hbic. I recall Sydney Wale and Dennis Hill Wood and that's all so bellend central I wouldn't know.
The only time that I ever wanted the spammers to win! and Brooking is the one West Ham player I would say I have a liking for, a proper footballer a 1 club man and was good for England not a great pundit or administrator but one of the good guys. Other than that I maintain they are a sewer of a club from top to bottom.
One of those times in the fixture schedule when you get the "concertina effect" between the teams at the top. Will be nice if the Goons can get something from today, but if not then I want them to be utterly destroyed.
I went a few times there too - I lived in Ilford at the time - one bus to Spurs, two busses to Upton Park. I remember my first match there they were throwing bananas on the pitch in the direction of Clyde Best (and if the current crop of players think they are experiencing prejudice, they need to reflect upon the experience of trailblazers like him).
Nobody but I felt they'd do ok today and take away those two decisions and they would have drawn. City can count themselves very fortunate to have been given those two decisions.
Boo hoo. Tell it to the teams last season who were cheated out of draws against the Goons by bad officials.
Nothing to do with this match though. THIS match TODAY not last year's decisions, City were LUCKY. Arsenal played some good stuff and we play them next and we will have to be on top form. I'm most concerned with catching City, so I'm looking more at their performances.
Fair enough, but Citeh are already better than anyone else, they don't need the help of the officials too! Also let's not forget the Bournemouth match where the ref had to extend the game into the 97th minute for them to score (the pundits have failed to mention this one since).
Agree that there were 2 dodgy decisions but City were the better side by a mile- Arsenal weren't really in it at any point and City were thoroughly deserving of the win
But nice to take the opportunity when offered (ask the Goons) . Looks as though Dec 10/16 will be when the Citeh attack/defence will first be asked the questions in the PL.
You can't be deserving of a win by two dodgy decisions, is that how they need to score? Bit like us on Wednesday. They may have been the better team but not in front of goal they weren't.They were deserving of a draw strictly speaking.
****ing Gooners. Thy can't do us a favour by getting a draw against Citeh? We drew with Burnley and beat Huddersfield for them.
