Do you fry them and then add the curry to a big pan or wok, or do them in a slow cooker? I did the former, but I bought a £40 slow cooker so I',m thinking od doing them in that. And the best rice?

    Ok...

    Punjabi Curry

    12 chicken thighs, skinned.
    4 large tomatoes finely chopped
3 medium red onions (always red with Indian) finely chopped.
    Teaspoon of turmeric
Teaspoon of chilli powder (kasmiri if you can get it)
    Teaspoon of salt.
    2 tablespoons of ginger/garlic paste
    4 tablespoons of tomato paste
    1 tablespoon garam Masala.

So...heat 3 tbs of veg oil in a big pot....or ghee if you can get it or be arsed to make it.

    Sweat onionsfor 15 mins.
Add ginger/garlic paste and spices -5 mins, then chopped tomatoes, salt...

When all broken down. Add tomato paste and chicken thighs.....stir, then add boiling water up to chicken just covered. Then low heat it for as long as you like.

I let it cool for hour then reheated and added garam Masala.

Will do the Bombay aloo tomorrow
    .....

Liked this curry because it was one pot one process. Most I do are ...make sauce, set aside, precook meat, set aside, etc etc lol

Well most curries are basically casseroles when the meat gets to it so slow cooker is fine. If....youve pre made the sauce.

The sauces from scratch need high heat to activate the ground spices.

This recipe wasn't one but I'll post link tomorrow for a base sauce batch to make that's basically what restaurants use to start off most curries...it can be frozen so make a big lot then freeze portions.

    It's saved time for me.

I do stews/scouses and soups and then put them in containers for work. LOVE a curry on nights, but I',m getting ever lazier and just by cheapo Tesco ones from the knocked down prices section. I do prefer eating something I've cooked and prepared myself.

Do you put chillies in your curries? And tumeric?

Yes...fresh tasting curry...fresh chillies. More casseroley it's dried or ground.

Turmeric in most but I always go just a little under with it as I think it overpowers badly if too much.

Sorry Saint...ill switch to pub tomorrow for rest lol

Bobby's creation and set up for our third was superb, it didn't give WH a chance to build on their goal and was made from nothing really.
His overall contribution was very good, he's another that does a lot of un-noticed work

Good win for us when I expected it to be difficult. West Ham were proper w@nk though, other than a 10 minute spell in the 2nd half, they looked like they didn't give a sh!t. I'd happily take playing Maribor and West Ham each week, doesn't get easier than that.

Credit to Salah as well, he had a couple good finishes. Great signing

Didn’t see the game yesterday but great result. Good to see that the goals are back and I loved the formation from Klopp - really attacking. 2 man midfield with pace and directness ahead.

Firmino is amazing when he has Salah and mane ahead of him - he’s not a CF, he’s a natural number 10 so he works better when he’s playing off a CF.

Shocked to see Mane on the pitch but what a player he is, and Salah continues to score! £35m is a bargain and credit to the club for getting that done.

Ironically, we win another game without Coutinho but it still would be good to see him, Ox and Lallana rotate the central attacking position.

Sort of touched on the ford thing a few times, i am not slating him, he is one of our better quality players but he doesnt want to be here, i think we just look better without him at the moment. Pre head turned ford - with our line up would have been amazing but it will never happen now :(

Having said that, I think Coutinho has looked decent this season so far given our disruptive it has been.

He doesn’t have a choice to sulk really - it’s World Cup year.

It may just be me but we look far more fluid without Hendo in the team.

I think some fans get caught up on the fact he plays a lot of passes and plays them quickly - but it doesn’t help the team build attacks or get us up the pitch. I rather someone who took a bit of time but looks to play through lines.

Yeah, i dont think he is sulking just his heart is not there and tbf why would it be. It was a gamble to force him to stay.
It may not even be ford it could be those around him who are thinking, well you dont even want to be here, i dont know.
Sadly i agree on hendo too, just written about it on another thread :(

Jimmy, I'm sorry to be the wet blanket, but we were ****. Until the breakaway goal, we gave the ball away as much as they did. When Carroll came on we completely bottled it. Without Ford, that team has no creativity. Salah and Mane are fine players, Can blows hot and cold (even in the same game) and Bobby gives 100% effort 100% of the time. That aside, West Ham were, bar 15 minutes in the second half, as bad as any Prem team I've seen for years.

That said, we losing games like this last month, so I'm happy about the three points, and it keeps us withing the fight for fourth until Ford, Lala and Clyne come back. And hendo too, I suppose.

But watching Sakho playing a blinder isn't improving my mood.

Watching the game in bits and pieces - the set up looks similar to how Klopp set up his Dortmund team - 4231.

The Ox is settling in now which is encouraging.

The midfield two definitely suits us better - they weren’t great on the ball but we did dominate most of the game.

Hope Klopp sticks to the 4231 now - think it gets more out of our attackers.

basically we played 423 & Chamberlain wandering all over the place ,though mainly up front. The MF were overun by WHam quite often even though they were ****e. Klopp may continue the experiment in some games to see if he can iron the kinks out but trust me we heavily reliant on the Mane / Salah understanding.

PS think us 2 may have been right about Salah :1980_boogie_down:

yeah salah and mane were deffo wide.

I think it was more a high press and then keeping lads back to defend together a bit more... but yeah it was deffo just back and forward ****e with little quality in midfield
