Badly. Means even if he needs two or 3 courses he has a very high chance of clearing it all

Tsk, tsk. I always do my porridge in two goes in the microwave, stirring halfway through.

Nothing worse than an early explosion while having your oats in the morning.....

Unlikely as my cousin has been given approximately 12 months even with chemo. :(

I don’t want to make assumptions about your cousin’s illness, but please don’t give until all avenues have been explored.
I know from my wife’s experience that when we were told that she had between 6-12 months to live, we were devastated.
The consultant explained that she would have chemotherapy “but there would be no guarantee of it’s success” and it’s those last few words you tend to remember.
My wife’s consultant was very proactive, and after chemotherapy my wife had radiotherapy, including on the brain, as her type of cancer can spread anywhere.
The treatment is very debilitating, but the results can be mind blowing. (Probably better than refereeing the FA Cup final when you give a 93rd minute, and successfully converted penalty to any team against Liverpool, for a foul by Lovren :emoticon-0105-wink:).
Fast forward almost 3 1/2 year’s and she is still here, albeit going through another (second) series of chemotherapy treatments, which are working again.
My wife’s cancer IS terminal and it is “odds on favourite” to be her cause of death, but modern medicine has given us some extra time.
Hopefully it will do the same for your cousin, and this time next year you will be celebrating your cousin’s continued survival.

I stupidly followed the instructions for a different make even though my usual brand never needs as long as it says on the packet. Luckily I had a splatter guard on. It went all over that and down the sides of the bowl onto the turntable. It looked fine at the halfway point stir. :(

    Early explosions are always disappointing.....

I bought a large bag of Lidl's porridge....terrific bargain.....especially as it is so difficult to cook I expect to be still eating it when Saints win the Premier League. :(

Reminds me of that Lenny Henry sketch where he said "Happy? I am as happy as Michelle Pfeiffer's knickers!"

PS Yes I know politically incorrect, but very funny as an 18/19 year old in the late 80s

Hi all, hope everyone’s been keeping well. Just a quick update if anyone’s interested. I’m currently in Charlestown near St Austell having been on the South West Coast Path Path for a week, and having set off from Lelant Saltings. We have an amazing coastline! And a right tough walk along it! You up and down and zig and zag so much it’s a wonder you get anywhere! Anyways, I feel like I’ve beeb pushing pretty hard each day and yet it seems highly unlikely I’ll reach Poole in 2 more weeks. Given that 630 miles and the whole SWCP supposedly takes 7/8weeks, I guess 400miles in 3 weeks was always pushing things!! No matter, if I don’t make it, but get close...maybe I’ll ring in and take another week off!
