That's why I said unlikely, and I was supposed to say outside the top clubs. Huddersfield are different as they've just come up.

 

I felt incredibly connected to the club during the first and second years back in the prem.

My connection died, and I'd say along with many other fans, during that first summer exodus. It had been growing back steadily and when Long scored THAT goal against Liverpool I thought it may be back. Definitely well and truly gone now.

 

You won't know if you don't play them and the way we are going we may not be a PL club much longer!

Yeah, I'm just more in favour of getting a couple of them into the squad rather than gutting the lineup and handing over the reins wholesale. Don't get me wrong: we should probably gut this lineup. But we should also replace some of them with top-quality footballers.

2017 has to be the dullest football I have ever seen at home. Not the worst (lest we forget branf**t) but certainly the dullest. I cannot be bothered to look up how many goals we have scored from open play at home in 2017 but it must be horrifically low.

 

This reaction is...mostly sensible and not a flame war? I don't know anything about the game and I think I'll keep it that way.

Understandable. Definitely need a new spirit at the club, because there seems to be an all-pervasive drabness at current.

I wouldn't at all be adverse to cycling in a few of the seldom-used players against Liverpool. Give Hojbjejrjg a start, give McQueen a start, give McCarthy a start. Promote a kid to the bench and drop a veteran from the squad entirely. Something to shake things up and get the starters out of their comfort zone.

 

Could be worse I suppose, I could have been a West Ham fan! They are getting pasted by the Scouse, I fear for our next match, I really do.

On the bright side Skate lost so no Cup derby possible.

 

Pellegrino would never be brave enough to do that though....
