Then perhaps we need players with the mental fortitude to keep trying even if the fans aren't deliriously happy. Because that's a reality in every park they would have played in and will play in going forward.

Ah so now the issue was finishing ( I agree) rather than terrible football which is what you opened with your response to me. Are you being revisionist?

Oh and Schad the fans were turning after the Watford game. Match One.

Perhaps. Perhaps we need new fans too. But please go back to my first post on this... don't look at one thing, look at several things.

And WBA the week before that. Pulis bought McAuley on, and went three at the back, Jay moved to down the middle. Suddenly, from nowhere, WBA started to take control of a game that we had previously controlled. It took MP 15 mins to respond. Today, it was Dyche bringing two strikers on.

Some fans wanted him sacked the moment he was announced as manager.

The issue was what is has been throughout: we have played at too slow a pace, and we have a team full of players that will waste most half-chances that come our way. Under Koeman, the solution was to get the ball forward quickly, such that the likes of Long were receiving the ball in space, rather than congestion. At no time under Puel or Pellegrino have we done that, and indeed we may not have the personnel to do that.

I just find it a difficult argument to swallow. The fans got on the team's back under Koeman, too (particularly at the beginning of his final season when we were playing hoofball, and again when we had our mid-year malaise); he switched things up, we started to win games, and the fans stopped complaining. That's the typical cycle of things in football.

    Actually i’m changing my mind.

I do blame the board entirely thinking about it. They shouldn’t have ****ed about so much, and appointed Silva.

I'm not worried about relegation, purely because January is still to come. If the board have got any last ounce of sense left, they will use January to ensure that we stay up, regardless of who is in the dugout.

Granted, it shouldn't take a January spending spree to keep this side up (don't get me wrong - we do badly need to a spending spree, but not in order just to see us 17th), but at least the option is still on the table.

But yes, it's going to get worse before it gets better. Hence my view on MP today.

That is the most worrying aspect about MP2 for me, his inability to read/game manage a match.

And been more decisive in the window. The saga of the team sale might've played a significant role there, but there are no excuses going forward.

Someone with tactical nous AND the ability to appear charismatic and motivate his players to improve and perform above their average?

Steady on, LTL! You’ll need a lie down.

Do you watch every Swansea, Everton and baggies game live? And when I said words I meant more painful to watch.

What I'm actually saying is that it always s feels worse because it's your team. Baggies were booed off today. Go ask their fans.

Just trying to keep a perspective

Part of me wonders how true the stories were about Puel being offered the chance to return to France, and hence how tight Les was being to try and hold out for compensation.

Can I be the random tall guy please? I'm pretty **** but at least you all know I care and I wouldn't cost anywhere near what the current lot do in wages.

Plus, the first 'fan' who went too far with abusing me would get Evra'd straight in the mush.

You make it sound like I'm focusing on just the fans. I'm not and that is what I said in my first post on this topic.

The random tall guy we kicked the tires on this summer (and the past summer, I think) has hit the ground running in Germany...Sebastien Haller has four goals and an assist in his last five league matches, and Frankfurt's rolling.

We do feel purpose-made for a 3-5-2 with Gabbiadini and a target man up top, and Boufal playing a free role behind.

I liked this for the McQueen bit.

Some players do seem to think their position in the starting line up is untouchable
