Whilst I fundamentally agree with what you are saying....Footballers get abused by fans all the ****ing time. If you are going to be that thin skinned that you are going to attack a fan every time someone gives you ****, then you need to think about another line of work. Fans giving players **** is part and parcel of football, like it or not.

It works both ways too I hate it when fans give **** to a player all game, and he will score and put his fingers to his lips to say "shut it" and the fans go mental and start trying to invade the pitch to attack the player!! Mate, this is exactly how it is with me and the 'Pede! It depends what the abuse is. Obviously. I'm assuming Evra didn't jump in the crowd because someone called him ****, although I accept I could be wrong. I wonder what common or garden abuse is acceptable to dish out to my bank manager? Was planning on dropping in in the week and, seeing as I'm I customer like, thought I'd give him some casual but perfectly acceptable ****.
I actually agree with chief here, in that context should be taken into account So for example I played cricket at a decent level and if someone said "that was ****" or something along the lines of thianguy is ****ing crap etc fair dues. Its heat of the moment and a bad shot and getting out when you need to dig in gets comments But if I was on the boundary rope and some fan decided to walk past and say."****ing paki bastard go back to your own country" then he is getting twatted. Simple Of course I did it after the game but only because he was behind a barrier when he said it
