Just been reading on LFC site

Alberto has been quoted the Italian media that he is close to signing a deal with Milan

Now it also say's that it could be another loan spell with the option for Milan to buy him after the season loan
IMO this can't keep happening they either buy him or don't bother
But saying that it is also quoted that he would end up leaving us for 8mil Euros
and that is way to low

He is obviously going somewhere before the window closes otherwise he would of featured in our first two games. I agree though that a loan seems pointless as with age his value decreases - I honestly don't understand the sense in loaning him out again. Unless he just wants out and no-one is prepared to buy him.

I say cut our losses and take 12 mil if it's offered. This time next year he'll be worth less than that anyway.

Ahhh poo... I don't understand why we don't just use him. He doesn't seem quite as eager to leave as under the Roy administration... couldn't blame anyone wanting to leave under Roy.

We need to keep him,and play him
Still think we could struggle when teams decide to park the bus
Could have done with him yesterday, up until they went down to 10 men,i could see a 0-0 result, just needed that little spark.
He could be the player that finds that one pass to break the deadlock in games against teams lie Fulham/Stoke etc
Tell him to stay till Jan and we'll look at it again then ( also may get more for him in Jan),if he still wants to go then,so be it.
If he goes this window, sell only and use money to buy back up striker (poacher type)

I agree, sell him or give him a good chat and tell him if he's here to stay we expect 110% and he has contract so he commited to us.

If no-one wants to buy him its time KK, Damien Commolli and Steve Clarke gave him a right talking to show him who's boss.

Honestly, if all the media quotes are true they need to clarify it all with him. At the end they can judge whether or not he will play, if he shows more disrespect he isn't fit to wear a Liverpool shirt.

But for now I'll respect him like any other Liverpool FC player and reserve any judgement for King Kenny.

Italian clubs seem to be obsessed with loans, and this funny business of joint ownership (go on the Milan wiki page and check out how many players they co-own and have out on loan. It's like 2 extras squads!) Don't any of them have any money to spend?
If we let him go on loan, we'll have the same stuff to deal with this time next year. They'll probably want him on a 2 season loan the cheeky bastards.
Like people have suggested, the club should say to whoever wants him that they take him permanently (i.e pay for him) or **** off.
I was thinking maybe a player exchange, but there's nobody at Milan who I'd take. They're either 50 years old (Nesta, Seedorf, Gattuso, Ambrossini) , play in a position we have cover in (Abate, Taiwo), or are just troulbe-makers (Robinho, Cassano). The only one I'd take is Thiago Silva, and that won't happen.

Seems to me that they're not going to play him until the window closes because of the interest from other clubs. However it seems they're not willing to loan him or sell him for the kind of small change being offered.
Based on pre-season it seems that he'll feature in KD's plans this season if the right offer doesn't come in for him. He is unique among our midfielders in his technical ability and guile, and would prove an excellent squad member.
On the other hand we do have plenty of midfielders and if his sale could fund the purchase of a top CB it would be worth it, especially since someone like Dann or Cahill would likely stick around a lot longer than Aqua.

Huh? He's been a model professional, put the effort in for the Asia trip, which was promo for the club's benefit, and he's even said himself he doesn't have a problem if he ends up staying.

So where does your allegation of disrepect come from? He's been totally honest that he'd prefer to return to Italy if the right deal can be found but he hasn't disrespected anybody. On the contrary, he's respected the club by being honest and respected the Liverpool Way by getting on with it without making Twitter comments or leaking crap to the media.

His agent has done everything he can to secure what club and player appear to prefer but only seems to have gotten ****e for it from fans who don't want him to go. I guess it's easiest to blame the agent in that situation but agents don't decide club transfer policy.

I think the fact that his agent can't secure him a permanent deal though says all you need to know about him. He's obviously not a very good agent as Aqua is good value in todays market at the sort of money I suspect we'd be willing to accept. Plenty of other agents do the business without spouting off in the media on a regular basis.

I have no problem with him staying as he's a good player but I don't honestly think we need him (Gerrard will be back soon enough and Maxi will do a job in a variety of positions) and I won't shed any tears if he leaves. The lad would prefer to be in Italy playing than sitting on our bench or in our reserves and I bear no grudges about that. Personally I'd be happy for him to go and us to bring in an extra centre back or striker instead rather than having a 14million pound reserve player.
