i took a dislike to your unconstructive criticism, i'm stressing that JET is greater than Adebola, if you can't see that, well i just don't know.
in addition to that, i am going now, 6000+ posts so far tells me you won't be moving all day, so i'll leave you to it! keep it up!
Unconstructive criticism? JET's not our player, so what I think about him makes no difference to anything. You just suggested that we replaced one poor player with another one, something that made little sense to me, the Cardiff fans didn't rate him, neither do the Ipswich fans, if we do decide we want him, at least he'll be available on a free now.
I wouldn't have thought we would get somebody like Macheda or Diouf; both have just spent time out on loan to top level sides, so I wouldn't have thought they would make the step down. That said though, we do have the WJ connetion, so you never know! I'd go for Leigh Griffiths from Wolves, maybe Giles Sunu from Arsenal.
Mame Biram Diouf (Man Utd) - NO CHANCE Federico Macheda (Man Utd) - NO CHANCE Stefan Mairhoffer (Wolves) - Maybe, don't know anything about though to be honest and so can't comment. Not being rude, but do you? Sam Vokes (Wolves) - Gone downhill a bit since joining Wolves, definitely not the right choice for him. Ended up at Leeds on loan in League One as well didn't he? Roman Bednar (West Brom) - No thanks. Rob Hulse (QPR) - A very good player at this level, whether he would come is another matter. Nile Ranger (Newcastle) - Really can't see that happening. Roque Santa Cruz (Man City) - NO CHANCE Nathan Ecclestone (Liverpool) - Maybe, but he'd be another inexperienced youngster. Gaël Kakuta (Chelsea) - NO CHANCE Nathan Delfouneso (Aston Villa) - Did OK on loan at Burnley last season, scored against us on his debut if I remember correctly, but is he what we need?
Because there is absolutely NO CHANCE of us signing any of them. For a start, Macheda and Diouf are being retained by Man United for this season, with Ferguson himself saying that he has confidence in them to provide sufficient back-up for Rooney/Berbatov/Owen (hence why no new strikers are coming in). Also, Diouf was excellent for Blackburn in the Premier League last season, so why would he suddenly drop into the Championship with a small club like Hull, with a **** team? Plus, Macheda was on loan in Serie A at Sampdoria, so there's no chance of him coming either. Man City signed Santa Cruz for £18m two years ago, and now you think there's a realistic chance that he's going to end up with us? Kakuta is a fantastic young player, and Chelsea loaned him to Fulham last year, so again, why would either the club or the player think a drop into the Championship with a crap team like us would be beneficial?
I'd agree with this we don't have a chance with any of these players. Why we wasted a wage on Dele is completely beyond my understanding. However I'd say Delfouneso is a realistic target given he was at Burnley last year and let's face it although he's not a target man he's better than anything we have!
Can someone refresh my memory which experienced Premiership strikers have made a real impact when loaned out to Championship clubs? Off the top of my head I can only think of Bellamy at Cardiff (but I think they are his home town club) and Yakubu for the first couple of months at Leicester. The point is; Can big name Prem strikers be ar5ed to perform in our league, or is it better to to risk going for someone from a lower league with raw potential like Le Fondre who would really have a go?
Bellamy only went to Cardiff because it's his home town club and Yakubu only went to Leicester because they're rich. And I'm not sure if it's a case of "not being arsed", but more of complacency because they think it'll be a walk in the park (especially for foreign players, given that the Second Division in most other countries is crap).
The recent success of teams like Norwich, Leeds, Millwall, Southampton and Brighton suggests there isn't such a gulf in quality between Champ and 1st division players at the moment, so it should be less of a risk to look at the best of these players.
We see it happen all the time at other clubs, Charlie Austin, Nicky Maynard, Danny Ings, Luke Varney etc all came from lower league clubs and other teams took a punt and it paid off. It just seems like it's never us who take that punt. Le Fondre would do just fine in this league, the goals are the same size in every league, the process of striking the ball towards goal doesn't change if you go up a league so why would he struggle? Natural goalscorers are hard to find and one that has scored 106 goals in 253 appearances, regardless of who it was for, has to be worth looking at when you consider what we already have.
that's another post, come on keep em going OLM, quick & fast. thought you'd reply after i'd had a nice afternoon out and about, rather that a football forum. Impressive.
Really? Well after yesterday's debacle that would mean we could have our pick from Schmeichel, Konchesky, Pantsil, Mills. Bamby, King, Wellens, Danns, Fernandes, Nugent and Vassell. Well, in truth there's not many of that shower that would improve our squad. Maybe Danns, but I was a bit disappointed at the way he sacrificed ambition for money by signing for Leicesteristan.
i know i should be more mature than leicester wummers who are still deeply in love with our manager, and who will be heartbroken when sven buggers off to a national team who pays more. but would anyone else love it if we end the season higher than them
