No Saints players involved, but England u17s playing in knockout stage in World Cup on Eurosport now. Still 0-0 and we are expected to beat Japan, but we all know what expectations do. England said to be the best U17 team in the world...we shall see.
Just in case anyone was in doubt, I was being sarcastic about exciting international football. I didn't bother putting it in blue because I thought it was so obvious. I don't give a monkey's about international football, except when I'm bored enough. And that's really exceptional.
Second game at home too isn't it? Can see you doing it tbh. Tough draw for the Northern Irish but you never know.
Stop the clocks....England won a penalty shootout. Scored every penalty with complete confidence....our GK stopped one, then got up and scored the next. The game finished 0-0 and Japan had a lot of the second half, but it is our U17s who go on to a very tough game against the USA.
https://southamptonfc.com/news/2017-11-02/southampton-november-international-call-ups Our first tranche of international call ups. Can you remember when we'd have been doing cartwheels if a player got called up....now it's easier to list those who don't.
There are first call-ups to the England senior squad for Liverpool defender Joe Gomez, 20, on-loan Crystal Palace midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek, 21, and on-loan Swansea striker Tammy Abraham, 20. [from the bbc]
I think Abraham has looked a real prospect, however I think Bournemouth's Lewis Cook has looked just as bright as Loftus-Cheek. Not seen anything much of Gomez at Liverpool but otherwise cannot really complain with who is fit.
Pub...Actually have the evening off so will be able to watch. Looked at booking flights but any sort of delay and I'd miss the match
