I thought it was for an elbow, which I thought was wrong, only just seen it was for being last man Leave it then
Just remembered the nonsense earlier in the match when Campbell(?) had the ball in the centre, anticipated a tackle and slid with the ball - the Boro player fell over him and yet won the "foul". Wtf was that all about?
It possibly was - it was one of several moments throughout the match where I wondered if the ref had come from an alternate dimension that had a completely different rule book to the rest of us.
Yeah I forgot about that but it was absolutely baffling. Your description of it sums it up really well. One of the most bizarre bookings I've seen.
They're completely ripping the piss out of us now, no name club, and Henriksen IS staying in the team, and we might even play his ****ing twin brother just for laughs.
Something to think about for the I'll cheers when these summat to cheer about fans Bolton Wanderers midfielder Karl Henry says he wouldn't want to play for Sunderland because of the home fans. Henry scored Bolton's third goal on Tuesday night as the Championship's bottom side earned a 3-3 draw at the Stadium of Light. The result led to the sacking of Black Cats boss Simon Grayson just minutes after the final whistle as Sunderland equalled an English record of 19 home games without a win. And Henry, who has also played for Wolves, says the 'toxic atmosphere' created by fans at the Stadium of Light is partly to blame. “Every time I go to Sunderland think the same thing – it’s a toxic atmosphere for the home team,” he told The Bolton News. “I wouldn’t want to be a player here with those fans. "Obviously they have got high expectations, and there are a lot of clubs who feel they should be in the Premier League, but unfortunately only 20 teams can. The league tables don’t lie. “It’s an atmosphere that doesn’t help the home team and it’s something we say as the visitors to try and use against them. You can get fans on their back.”
Meylers thoughts on it... “They can say ‘It shouldn’t affect the players.’ It’s not a case of the balls coming on the pitch that affects the players, it’s the negativity that’s around it,” he said. “It creates an atmosphere where one mistake, which is a slight mistake, can turn the crowd because they’re already hot and bothered. “I understand their reasons, that’s fine, but it does creep on to the pitch. “At the same time, I’ve played 185 games for Hull, I’ve captained my country and played in big games. I’ve got to be able to deal with that. Some players have that experience, some don’t, but it would be nice if everyone could pull in the same direction.”
I suppose he has a point but it is still very hard to find any positivity as a supporter. Fans can't help but be affected by what the Allams are doing to the club. What the hell can be done about it. Do we pretend to be happy and sing our heads off even though the team is playing badly, do we just forget that the Allams have ruined the atmosphere and driven lots of supporters away. Do you have any answers cos I'm sure as hell I don't.
