Wembley was a bit of a problem for a while but it seems that all you really need is FOUR - ONE to go your way and the next thing, you're flying. :emoticon-0102-bigsm

How long before Winksy gets the England captaincy? 2 or 3 years? Look like he's been playing top level for 20 years, not just a handful of games. There is still a lot more to come from this boy. Class act. 2018 may be a little soon but based on the performance of the under 17s and under 20's, I can see him lifting the WC in 2022.

How’s everyone feeling about the carabao defeat cup now? I know Trophies are important, but nights like that are simply amazing. You can clearly see that despite the difficulty of winning the CL, Poch and the players are aiming high. Completely different attitude towards it. Still can’t quite believe we’re top of that group and we’ve outclassed the best team in Europe. COYS

  5. Will be the first to concede that Trips was excellent last night and didn't think he had that level of performance in him yet.
Thought his all round game was top-notch and apart from a couple of late lapses pretty much controlled that flank - which means he dominated Marcello. No mean feat!!

Well done, lad - now press on!

  7. He thinks he'll be out for a few weeks. Bad news for sure, but amazing to think that his absence isn't the source of mass depression as we have such a depth of talent in that role :emoticon-0148-yes:

What a goal Eriksen's was with a fantastic assist from Kane.

    Love it!

The important thing is we're through despite the first goal being offside and the second a lucky deflection which flatters a bit and Madrid having 4 top men out. I remember in the group stages in 2011 we scored three on a regular basis then the goals dried up in the knockout stages so whilst looking at the positives I'm also looking at the not so positives.

Man City and PSG are the favourites I would say.

Wow. How would you have described our relegation in 1977? What level of performance are you expecting? Are you often disappointed in life?

You need to enjoy the moment. I can't believe you want to be negative at a time like this.

Sort of but I wouldn't see you being positive if the first goal had been disallowed and the second had been deflected wide.
We will score some lucky goals and miss some unluckily. It's the level of performance we should focus on.
It's for Pochettino to look at the negatives and try to eliminate them. He's not doing too badly....

The first goal should have been disallowed so the ACTUAL score would be reflected. The second was lucky.

Look, the goals scored in the two legs were an own goal, an offside and a deflection.Only one was good. I just hope we get beck to REAL scoring a la Liverpool. We lost to West Ham and Man U and were lucky last night......................sorry.

Aurier didn't touch Kroos for their goal at The Bernebeu, whereas Lllorente was upended and nothing doing. Even last night, every time we hassled them, one of their players went to ground and..........free kick Madrid.

Every game against Madrid is littered with decisions for them. Every official is pro-Madrid. Beating them is next to impossible because they are too powerful within UEFA. To take them apart and demoralise them is something truly special.

Let the love flow...........until midday on Sunday. Then I want total warfare.

If I didn't know any better, I would say you were born no earlier than 2009. Can't see how anyone who lived through the dross of the 90's and early 00's can be anywhere but cloud 9 right now.
