The Bowling for Columbine film told the sad truth. 1. In Canada, the proportion of gun-related homicide per % ownership is orders of magnitude below the USA. 2. In the USA, guns are far too often the means of FIRST resort rather than the LAST (as in Canada) .
The usual response is along the lines of "Michael Moore is a fat libtard REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Communication is a real strong point of the American right, isn't it?
And also amazing amount of coverage given to the Kevin Spacey 'revelation', headlining in many cases (despite vague details and denials)! Yet, Trump has been given virtually a free pass over the self-voiced admissions of sexual assaults!! You'd almost think there was an agenda in place.....
"Will Wragg: Video exists of three males urinating on him." "Liam Fox: Adam Werrity." "Liz Truss: Sexual relations with Kwasi Kwertang." "Amber Rudd: Workplace relationship with Kwasi Kwertang." Boris Johnson has an NDA with a young researcher. I wonder how many of this lot are compromised? They're all doing stupid **** publicly and getting caught.
If you Google his name then you get lots of results about the media not being able to publish the list that he's on!
It's ridiculous just how many of them there are - of both sexes. It's the arrogance of power, I think. Firstly, the belief that they are entitled to do what they want because they won't be held to account. Secondly, because they are conceited enough to believe their position and status makes them more attractive and desirable. The Tories are hardly the most progressive party - their policies are borrowed from the 1870s. It seems their sexual attitudes are rooted in the 1970s - even using silly terms like "handsy" for what would be termed sexual assault or molestation if Joe Public did it. And yet the media are continuing to report about Fallon putting his hand on Julia Hartley-Brewer's knee, even though the list makes it quite clear that it is out of character for him...
The Dire Leader is telling the public to take all allegations of sexual harassment and/or assault to the police, presumably in the hope they lose another bunch of files. Also, the fact that Dan Poulter's name is conspicuously absent from the headlines in spite of his activities being far more serious than those that are getting reported is making it look like my prediction of the press missing the point like they did with the expenses scandal to be pretty accurate. Lastly, there is a certain amount of schadenfreude that Michael Fabricant went on Newsnight a couple of days ago and tried to dismiss the story as a witch hunt while trying to imply that all those on the list were sloshed so somehow blameless (words he actually used) - then he shows up on the list, which implies nobody told him the best course of action would be to keep his head down and mouth shut.
My workmates would read the papers each morning years ago and refer to gun toting Americans as "bomb happy bastards!" OUCH!!!!
If there is a witch hunt as Fallon claims, they surely can't miss this one... please log in to view this image Even without the pointed hat and broomstick
Nobody likes to hear about a falling sleazy Tory more than me, but we should also be careful about what we are condemning. The hand on the knee scenario sounds bad out of context, but I would hope it is the precursor to other revelations that they hope will not now get out. Otherwise we are in bringing labeling things that are not much more than normal interaction into the legal sphere. Don't think so? Have you ever had an "advance" turned down? Maybe you're some kind of chick magnet but for many of us, we're be **** scared to make an approach to a woman in case she claims unwelcome sexual advance. So does anyone know what at you are allowed to do, because it seems to me that almost anything could now be illegal.
