Just out of interest, hypothetically speaking if Liverpool offered to swap mignolet for forster, who would take it?

 

Hmmmm. Mignolet is approaching the end of his career, Forster is still young for a keeper. But Forsters main weakness (mobility) is unlikely to improve with age.

Tough one.

 

Umm they're both 29 aren't they?

I always slated mignolet over the years, but seems like from the admittedly little I watch of him that he's improved loads over last couple of years to be fair.

Edit- Forster is a whopping 11 days younger

 

And keepers can go on forever. Just ask SKD

 

That would be swapping one dodgy keeper for another, but if any of the other prem keepers were on offer it would be an improvement IMO.

Butland, Heaton, pickford, begovic all an improvement and that's off the top of my head.

 

I will give you Heaton.

Pickford and butland both conceeded twice as may goals to Forster. 20 to his 10.

I'm sure some blame must lay with them for those 20 goals

 

Possibly but that's a very simplistic way of looking at it and you can't just look at goals conceded.

luckily football / the premiership is not results orientated and goals conceded have little relevance when judging your goalkeeper

 

Lincoln keeper wasn't coming for crosses. Was let off for ages by happy clappers because we were winning. Carried on this year the same. Happy clappers still behind him because of last season. Too many crosses not claimed and any shot near the corners being a goal and the reserve got his chance.

First game in a cross comes across. Defenders still used to the "No1" keeper so both defenders and one of our midfielders went up for the same ball. Our keeper punched the ball clear and took the 2 centre backs and the midfielder as well as their man and the centre backs ended up lain on the pitch. Midfielder got up pretty much straight away. Oppo striker predictably rolling around. The ball was in the stands from the punch. Job done!!

Some people were moaning about the keeper injuring the players (who both got up within a minute.) The real picture is that the keeper did what the other keeper should have been doing and the defenders didn't trust the "KEEPERS" shout because of the previous keeper. This guy has kept his place since. Comes for nearly every cross. Defenders know he will and trust his calls..............And he stops a fair few that are in the corners of the goal frame as well. There is not a lot of room for sentiment in sport. It is always the present. Your past performances do not win you games or points now.

No good keep saying about Fraser's past performances or that other keepers make mistakes. Fraser is making a lot of mistakes and nowhere near where he was a couple of years ago. In a team that can only win by the odd goal then we can;t afford those mistakes so he needs to be "rested."

 

So last season are you saying agree with all of these statements?

Mignolet better than Cech.
Lloris better than De Gea.
Steklenberg better than Fraser.
