I can't realistically suggest any (Andy King or Richie Wellens perhaps) but all this talk about bringing in strikers is getting tedious. We have proven goalscorers at the club. What we don't have is that Neil Danns type midfielder who was such a priority not long ago. And I don't mean the 'B' word. We still need that central midfield player who can quickly break into attack. There has to be priorties and with a midfield and defence which looks so young and niave, i am sure that adding the correct patches in these areas will transform the team in to a mid-table force. In todays transfer market it is silly to expect we can better what we have up front without selling our soul to the devil again!
Forget the Premiership, we are still firmly in the WiP league

Agree - Fryatt was denied any space by a back four that defended so deep the whole game. We need some urgency in the middle of the park - someone with some real fight and passion.

That said the likes of Brady should in time be able to give us width - able to stretch tight defences that we saw yesterday and much of last season at home.

When teams come to defend we are unable to break them down. We started to do this once Cam Stewart got into gear and it was no surprise that our play off chances fell away once he got injured.

We must find a way of altering this anytime soon.

After all the ridiculous panic ridden, reactive, sensationalist, uninformed and I'll thought out comments since yesterday it is refreshing to read sensible posts like this.

What we miss is, as you say, that dynamism in midfield - the change of pace in order to spring Brady off or play balls beyond their back four. Danns would certainly have provided that; McKenna is not that type of player and nor is Evans. Cairney possesses the vision and passing ability but lacks in natural pace and speed of thought. Sort the creative element (Nigel's biggest sin this summer was not doing) and I have no doubt Fryatt will be a 15+ striker, with up to 10 from AM.

Have you noticed how nobody else suggests Koumas.

Look at his record, do you really want another Bullard at the club?

He is too young to pin our hopes onto.

From Man U Ravel Morrison springs to mind - attack minded midfielder
Before yesterday I would have added Frompong from Arsenal but he is probably in the 1st team squad now
If Stoke get Palacios then there might be an opportunity for Tonge on loan?

Koumas is a good player but was only available for half Cardiff's games last season due to repeated niggling injuries.

Frimpong is more of a defensive midfielder than a creative one.

    Probably Ross Barkley.

Alan Stubbs recently told 5Live that Ross Barkley could be as good as Wayne Rooney. Had horrendous inj problems but shining light #EFC

Someone mentioned Butterfield from Barnsley, he does look a good player.

There's no point getting a new midfielder in, he'll just be replaced by Barmby after an hour. Yesterday it was literally embarrassing how much better than everyone else Cairney was, yet he was the one to make way for Barmby when Evans was almost absent.

That was me,thankyou, and yes he is a VERY good player.

He is a Wes Hoolahan clone. When Barnsley came to the KC last season everyone was bricking themselves about Hammill. Nobby had him in his pocket all day and it was Butterfield that stood miles above the rest.

Haven't we all been saying about sorting our central midfield out for the last 6 months ??? NP noted Danns as a priority, but when any chance of him coming disappeared, did he just forget about this priority ? Not readily available, but NP should've been searching for such a player since Ashbee left. We could get the creativity from Koren playing central midfield - if we had an Ashbee style player in there alongside him.
