I think Eboue has beaten you both there, I think all 8 inches was inside him at the Emirates last year moments before my avatar picture. :bandit:

I had a Lucas shirt when 95% of fans were against him. I knew he'd work out and I was right. Observe my Lucas-like magnificence.

Lucas would never respond to a known wum wumming like the lamest wum at Wumenhams of Wumbledon. For that reason alone he is ace.

I'd agree with all of that, Vinnie.

Lucas is like the son I never had...

... only I'd had to have been freakishly young when he was conceived...
... and if he had half my genes then his mum must have been pretty ugly to turn out looking like that (I'm a hot sexy beast)...
... but she must have been better at footie than me...

A neccessity-type player in the Prem now. Every side has a ball-winning midfielder and ours in one of the top 5 in the league. However, I agree with LFC-009, he's not the finished article, or at least I hope not. Aerially he needs to do better and his turn of pace is lacking. Also the lad could do with getting his head up a bit more often.

Couldn't agree more. And i think that's where the route of the article came from. Just curious, who do you see as the few as good as him / on his level or above?

And I didn't want to start an argument in here people :D, if some guys don't rate him, then that's cool, but putting some debate out there wouldn't hurt! <rose>

Michael Essien, Darren Fletcher (as much as I hate him), Scott Parker (He will be back in the prem by the end of the window) and De Jong.

No, true hero worship would be getting a tattoo of Lucas that covers your entire back- and on that tattoo have it have a tattoo of Lucas on it's back... and on that tattoo's back- a... you get the idea.

Yeah I get the idea but I'll stick to the Lucas-esque barnet thanks <ok> If however, he ever scores either a League winning goal or a Champions League Final winning goal I hereby swear I WILL get that tattoo

We really need to set up a Champions League final in a few years.

Get Lucas Leiva and Pepe Reina to score and have a massive celebration.

    Show our appreciation :D

Don't wish to spoil the Luca Love-fest going on here, but I noticed on at least one occasion (when Nasri broke though from just outside his own penalty area, ran the length of the pitch to stick a shot in) that, having been beaten, Luca was incredibly slow to recover his position and after chasing back down the pitch decided to back down to a slow canter once he'd got back just inside the Liverpool half - and let his team-mates sort out a problem he had helped to create. Not impressed.

Other than that (and still worrying about how the Big Lad up front fits into KK's 'system') I thought the team played as an incredibly tight unit and sent out a huge signal to the rest of the PL. Apols, just relaised that this is starting to go off thread - I'll get my coat.... GKRK.

Yeh, his not looked sharp so far but we have to remember he had the Copa America so isn't likely to have fully recovered. Maybe if we play the next game with Spearing rather than Lucas to give him some time out and only bring him off if needed.

Did you not think that was Adam's fault? He burst forward, out of position and then gave the ball away leaving a gaping hole in the midfield. Lucas barely even got a look in before Nasri had already set off at full tilt. Admittedly he could have tried to sprint after him a la Spearing/Mascherano but I didn't think he was ever getting there. Adam on the other hand barely even jogged back.

This is the problem when neither player considers themselves a DM. Both are deep CMs with a little license to go forward. With time their communication should get better and if one goes forward the other will withdraw.

You could be right Eddie B, I thought it was LL that gave the ball away rather than Adam but, either way, the image I registered was LL just running out of puff and, IMHO, lacking some motivation to help dig the team out of a difficult sitch. Maybe I'm being a little hard on him! GKRK.

I was slating Lucas in his first season BUT he has shown his doubters that he is a good player
Many players would of left after the abuse the lad got from the home support, but he didn't he got on with things
and proved us all wrong Player of the year for last season. Now i'm not saying he is world class but he has come on heaps and bounds since joining us 3 managers he has been under + international so he can't be that bad

There are always going to be the supporters that will say that he is not good enough, but like mentioned i can see him stepping up for captaincy for LFC when Stevie G hangs his boots up

THE LAD IS A ALL ROUND PROFESSIONAL
No moaning, hard worker and like LFC-009 said he has time to up his game even more

Give it another look. It's 5:20. Lucas wins the ball for Adam to lose it, but fair enough, he falls for Nasri's shoulder drop pretty badly. So too does Agger.
