Tbh Allardyce is a cheeky **** acting like he's football royalty, EFC should release a statement saying they would not consider Allardyce for the job, he'd "consider" the job.<laugh>

In fairness he was asked the question, and he gave an honest answer. If we end up with the King of Alehouse footie as our new manager I'll ****ing weep.

i actually think Big Sams not as bad as people make him out to be. I reckon he'd do well for Everton.

You will have to do something quickly.5mil for 7 Months work sounds a bargain when the alternative might be the drop?

A few clean sheets would be a start

If there was 10 games left and we were in the bottom 3 I might agree with you, but there's 28 left and we want a manager to take us forwards not some alehouse footie fire fighter.

What if it's just for 7 months with Walsh picking the striker and the longer term new manager?

Who is available to come in for Everton now?

I don't think anyone on the bettingnodds would do the job bar dyche and i dont think he will jump ship.

So Bobby, you'd take him in a heartbeat to replace Conte?

Don't forget, before Roman turned up Chelsea had the kind of manager the club wouldn't look at twice these days, if Everton want to progress they need to look beyond the tired group of has-beens like Allardyce, Parades and Pulis etc that drift from one prem club to another for a season or two.

Who though? Marco Silva don't leave Watford now imo, tuchel and anchelotti are pipe dreams.

    Who is left?

Dyche would jump at the chance imo, but I don't want him either.

It's the job of the guy who shot Koeman to come up with a replacement mate, not mine. As discussed the other day the Everton job is amongst the highest paid in the game these days, so there should be plenty who'd be tempted by it.

We won't know for sure until the summer "Who is left", Unsworth has so far only had yesterday and they can't say they've seen enough "let's get fat Sam", as long as they don't get relegated they'll might just stick with Unsworth.

to be fair i don't think Fat Sams ever had a fair gig.

Not saying he'd be the first name i'd want at chelsea but he's done a pretty good job where ever he has been and i think he gets this unfair long ball merchant tag on at him.

The worst stints he has had were at Newcastle where he wasn't really given a chance and at West Ham where they stagnated but were pretty safe (i remember him having loads of injuries) so even then i'm not sure he was that poor.

I wouldn't be ecstatic with him at chelsea but it wouldn't be the worse appointment at a top club.

"stagnating" is the key word Bobby, and a few of his ex players have said his training methods are responsible for injuries.
But if you rate him fair enough mate, but I'd hate him anywhere near our club.

depends how realistically you lot think you should be.

I for one don't think you're team looks too bad, however it requires a strong manager i think there are some players that the manager feel they can't drop. Whilst your team could probably be solid, i think a forward thinking coach is probably not going to get the best out of your team. Your team is lacking pace to make teams drop off which means less space for your midfielders who aren't technical enough to out play teams (would be far better if they had space) and your defenders are too old/slow to push too far forward. You lack width and i can see a lot of problems if you pick the wrong attacking manager.

Until you can change things in January, you can't hire a manager then sack him if things are looking bad to replace with Big Sam. Even then Big Sam needs a bit of time to implement his ways so its a question of whether you are willing to take that gamble.

That was one job though at West Ham and you can see what a big fat mess that club is behind the scenes.

We've lived through the mourinho years and rafa :p. I'm sure we can live through Sam. Anyway, like its not as if he's my first choice, or 5th, just that i don't think he's as bad as people make him out to be and he's not really been given a chance at a big club to say he wouldn't make it

He's one of those to haul you out of the mire when you're desperate, but no use if you want to get anywhere afterwards.

He'd be an appointment that screamed desperate.

We're 4 points off midtable after 10 games, it's not time to man the life boats just yet.

And you've played some of the big teams too.

I would say that if you are not out of the R zone by the end of November, you have to start worrying. I think that Marco Silva is a good manager from his work with Hull and watford. Moyes knows the club inside out and would no doubt be able to at least stave off the dreaded R but whther he'll be willing to go back after so many years at the club remains to be seen. Always a massive task to lift a big club which has lost its way. <yikes>
