He is trying to get wins with a team with hardly any attacking play. Due to the fact we have hardly any goal scorers in our squad. Puel did the same and he had Rodriguez to come on as a added threat ( even if if was pretty poor). We sold Jay and didn't replace, giving Pellegrino even less attacking options. Then add Sims injured for the season it makes the attacking players way too comfy.

Well, quite. But (a) the transfer is window is closed, so we can only go with what we've got, and (b) I personally wouldn't have set us up to play so deep. But if that's the way MP wants us to play, Long has to start in my view.

Gabbi tried to get himself involved at times today, rather than leaving himself totally detached. Unfortunately that meant he was in his own half.

He had one chance in the whole game, and I don't recall him doing anything else of note other than that. I feel for him like I feel for Tadic.

If we're gonna play like that, does more for us than poor old Gabbi even if he fluffed most things touched.

My personal opinion is that the performances are below what we were producing last season, where we were creating a lot more chances but missing them under Puel (who only really had Shane and Jay for a lot of the season)

I don't think Pochettino does. I just think it is a symptom of having very little attacking play. The same **** happened at the end of Puel's career here. We just started to drift back as the attacking players offered nothing.

He made a few changes because the team did not appear to be clicking that well. Boufal got the start, like people have wanted.

Up 1-0, you stay balanced, move the ball around a bit and keep possession. Put a little pressure on the other team and hope they make a mistake, but if not do not overcommit. If BHA pushes up and commits forward, you can score on a counter. If they do not, you win 1-0.

Forster let in a howler. That was the reason we dropped 2 points.

In the first part of last season we were creating (but missing) chances. Not in the second half.

It's happening again this season, but just at a much faster rate. I tried to tell people not to be happy after that opening Swansea game!!!

RIght, I’m going to sit down and watch a 4-0 win for Leicester with an expansive, high pressing, exciting team performance from Claude’s new charges!

What? He had the same squad Pellegrino had + Jay. We are playing the same we did under Puel at the end of the season. Drifting back because we can't score.

    That wasn't the formation.

In my opinion, which is what my comment was based on:

Davis is a CM, played DM. don't have that position and we didn't have many options for a second DM.
Tadic is a LW who can play AM. who was played as an RM. Why he's being asked to cut back and cross/ shoot on his weaker foot in don't know.
Prowse is a RM, played as an AM he shares many qualities with Davis as an AM and is basically Davis cover when played there.
Boufal is an AM who can play LW. played LW. his slow speed but direct approach suits AM better i think. he won the free kick after moving over to the middle.
Redmond is an RW, Played LW. His technique is much better for knocking it past people on the outside, the complete opposite of Boufal.
Long is a ST. played RW. Showed under Koeman thats his best spot.
Hojbjerg was bought at as DM i think, seems more like a CM few times I've seen him. certainly not an AM as he was played today.

I'm not saying Pellegrino was wrong is all these selections. But the only one i would have chosen is Davis as DM.

Hojberg: can play dm/cm and am and has done in the past.

Davis: as a attacking player doesn't work anymore as he hasn't got the speed. That and he is prefered to Hojberg. As we only have 4 dm if you count Davis.

Prowse: has played well on the right before and has played on the right for England.

Boufal and Tadic I can kind of agree with but we have hardly any attacking options. So I can't blame the manager.

I'm sorry Beef, but I could always see what Puel was trying to achieve and the team had a shape and pattern, I just haven't seen it this season yet.

It's not that we cant score, we aren't even trying. Haven't seen any runners into the box or runners off of players in 10 games or so. If we only have 1-3 players in the opposing box we will struggle to score.

Prowse played as an AM today. not an RM (although his best contributions came when he drifted to that side.) we could have played all 3 of Prowse, Tadic and Boufal in what i think is their best position but we didn't today.

    Attacking players under Puel;

    Jay
    Gabbiadini (half a season)
    Austin (half a season)
    Redmond
    Sims
    Tadic
    Boufal
    Long

    Under Pellegrino:

    Gabbiadini
    Tadic
    Redmond
    Boufal
    Austin
    Long

    And this shows our problem

We had the same problem last season. You can't keep on blaming the manager
