Would rather lose 1-0 than watch that pathetic joke of a performance!

Ah ok. Am I allowed an opinion? My opinion is that some of our fans go a bit loopy when things aren't good. I don't think things are good, but I have two hand firmly gripping the steering wheel :)

I'm also giggling a bit inside as a lot of these fans wanted Puel out very early when I could see what he was trying. I wonder if any of them would ever admit to maybe being a bit hash.

I agree, although we haven’t really replaced Mane and pelle.

Can anyone explain our tactics, I can’t really describe our style of play.

As I have said before this is the 2nd manager we have had that players end up playing like this. There comes a time when you have to look at the players instead of blaming the manager all the time

I'm all for some necessary pragmatism but Jesus, one goal up 10 minutes into that game we did not need to be getting conservative . I don't know if it was the players (consciously or sub-consciously) or the manager's instructions but there was no need to let off the gas. Hojbjerg for JWP rather than Romeu or Davis was pretty decidedly negative, too.

Thought Davo despite the goal had a pretty bad game by his standards, just too many passes that were a touch behind or held up too much, slowed us down so much. Tadic has no rhythm with anyone in the team beside Cedric. I feel bad for Fraser but I still just think he's physically not up to standard at all anymore, he just didn't have much agility or quickness to lose beforehand, so the injuries have hit him so hard. I don't know how Cedric has gotten left alone with Murray at the far post. I don't know why VVD and Hoedt just didn't want to pass to Romeu at times. If we were gonna play the way we did, Long would fit the system far better than Gabbi... If we weren't gonna play like that and changed the plan when we scored then we were just pretty much cowardly. JWP should start every game just for set-pieces, and take every single one even if it's by our own corner flag, I don't care. Stream of consciousness over.

Good post. We just don't have a threat from midfield as our so called attacking midfielders are Tadic, Redmond and Boufal. Tadic isn't good enough, Redmond has been poor of late and Boufal hasn't been great but hasn't had much of a chance in fairness.

We need to bring in a quality number 10

Pellegrino would probably play his as a fullback though.

Indeed. I am still firmly of the view that the board are at fault the most. But MP is starting to really baffle me. He'll end up dropping Boufal again next, or something.

Just as things were beginning to look like they were getting better, he reverts back to Gabbi up front by himself and Tadic on the right. Bizarre. I wouldn't have picked the XI he did in the first place, but with that XI, I certainly wouldn't have picked the formation that he did.

It's three games in a row that he's given with one hand (in this case, starting Wesley and Boufal) and taken with the other (in this case, pretty much every other decision he made). Who drops Long - the only forward we have who can run - and at the same time reverts to sticking men behind the ball, where an option on the counter would be of great use?

So you'd rather be entertained and relegated. Not for me. I'll take a season of boring wins and draws, if necessary, to achieve something significant. It's about winning, not entertaining. When football is played at the London Palladium I might believe it has become an entertainment over a sport.

ehh... would have been a decent enough game if Forster hadn’t made that mistake.

1-0 away would have been fine. MP’s tactics were good, and the players were executing just fine.

Sorry to those who think this team can score 3 goals a game if it weren’t for Davis/Tadic/scapegoat of the day. None of the players are that bad, but collectively they are not good enough. You can choose between “boring” football or losing football.

I can admit. I wanted Puel out because i thought at the time that he wasn't getting the most of the team (combined with mostly boring football) but now i think he was actually having us perform better then we ought to expect with the players at out disposal.

But can you tell us what's Pellegrino trying, cause i think i'm far from being the only one who doesn't have a clue about that. Includong probably Pellegrino himself
