got to say chaps, sounded like we were a "tad" fortunate to take all 3 points yesterday but as to your gaffer, hate to say this but the guy to stop the rot is Warnock - a nasty piece of work but an incredible record at this level!

I mentioned Moyes because there is an exception to every rule and that joy-vampire is it. His negativity had a massive effect on us, but I'm talking about any given team. Comparing Moyes and Allardyce's record is missing the point because they had different teams, different sets of players. Bringing a new manager into our current lot at this point in time won't make an appreciable difference. If we're just clinging on at the end of the season, a change might give us the 'new manager bounce' to keep us up.
Aside from that brief bounce, the main way that a new manager can change things is to bring new players in, as Allardyce did. It wasn't until after his new signings arrived that we looked like a decent side. Now it looks like Grayson might have money to spend, but yesterday, when I first mentioned the 10% thing, it didn't look like there would be any money to spend in Jan.

I'd go along with this partly, but he had no big names at Ipswich and he made a mess of that job too. Keane is like PDC in a way, too demanding, we talk a lot about passion on here, but its overrated and will only get you so far, we have a squad that is just not up too it thats the problem, Billy Graham couldn't lift this lot. Keane might sort it out short term but he would need a sack load of money, and ala Bruce he would self destruct as soon as it is not going his way.

    Horse ****.
If that’s the case how is it the same few managers that succeed everywhere they go?

A good manager in any walk of life, not just football, can make a turd look like a diamond.

On any given team. Any one set of players. Drop Conte into our lot and we'd still be ****. Give a manager some money to spend and he can make a difference, build a team, spawn a whole legacy and turn a small club into a ****ing footballing behemoth. But a man who can truly turn a set of poor footballers, without bringing in new players, comes along at most once in a generation.

And the piping here? For its shortcomings the squad we have is easily top 10, easily.

We are 23rd. Grayson has been a disaster, there is no way in gods earth that squad is 23rd best in the league.

The players have been cowardly, a manager is there to change that, to lead.

This mug played Billy Jones CB.

I disagree. I think our squad is very poor in comparison to at least two thirds of the league. We have perhaps 4 players at most who would be first team regulars in a top 10 team. 2 or 3 who past it at any level, 2 or 3 who should be Prem level but don't seem to care, and 3 or 4 who are League 1 standard.

So did a previous manager, he also played JoS as did all the others, what does it prove, nothing, if they make a hash of this decision like I think they will, it will be a case of the lunatics running the asylum, I like many others watch with interest, from a distance.

    I can’t agree at all.

    Grabban
    Catts
    Kone
    Watmore
    N’Dong
    McManaman
    McNair
    Oviedo
    Wilson

There’s 9 players close to PL standard off the top of my head. Those are all very decent players.

Cattermole is **** anyway and has been doubly poor this season. Kone doesn't care. Watmore and McNair are only just back from injury so we don't know how they'll fare in this league. McManaman should be a good player but has found his level at mid table Championship sides. That leaves the 4 that would get into a top 10 side.

You think 2/3 of this league has players better than these? Do they **** mate.

Kone doesn’t care, you’re right. Guess what, under a good manager on Allardyce he was phenomenal.

McManaman has always been a top player at this level. We are at this level. We are a Championship club, what’s your point on that one?

Injured or not Watmore and McNair do remain part of this squad, yes?

What do you mean "what's my point on that one"? Exactly what I said, the squad isn't very good. If you think it is, that's fine. But I look at most other squads in the league and see them filled with players who are experienced and solid at this level and I look at ours and see some over the hill players, a few with potential but who have yet to find their true level, padded out with poor players.

You said his level is mid table Championship. We are 2nd bottom Championship.

So he’s above our level then, isn’t he?

Bar Boro and Villa most sides in this league have 2-3 good players, a lot of fill and some heart and organisation.

We have 5-6 good players, no heart or organisation.

We are far better than many, and far better than most in many ways.

It’s a managers job to solve a riddle, weall know we have a bunch of gutless ****ers in the squad, Grayson could have tried the likes of Beadling, hungry young lads. Did he?

It’s on him. He has to get the best out of what he has. He absolutely didn’t.

You're right, he didn't get best the out of them. But there are other factors which effect performance too. Kone hasn't wanted to be here for more than a year. The poisonous atmosphere at home games clearly effects certain players, if not all of them. So I don't blame him solely.
Furthermore, I still think the squad is poor. It's low in numbers, small physically, and lacking in players with experience at this level. All of which make it unsuitable for this division.
