I knew KFC were putting their prices up but dear me... Now I know why Sunderland fans go to MacDonalds.
If the new owners want to compete against the big boys, then a £50m overpayment at this stage is probably not a prohibitive detail. I think he'll sell. Hope it's to a concern are able to successfully manage a potentially huge club.
Yes, but with Liverpool you also get the franchise with guaranteed sales income from the curly wig and shellsuit sets, so the extra cost is worthwhile.
This 'we' owe 'him' this much and 'he' lent 'us' that always bugs the **** out of me. He bought the club, lock stock. The debt belongs to him just as the club does. He cant have it both ways............... he 'owns' the club, but not the debt? Not for me. **** the fat ****!!
He has every right to ask what he wants for it BUT if he really wants to sell-up now then he and the buyer are going to have to find a mutually acceptable figure. His calculation of the sales price will be made up of: 1) the cash price he paid 2) the debt he inherited 3) any additional money he has put in 4) the value he believes has been added to the club The latter is a nebulous figure but takes into account that all teams currently in the Premier League are benefiting from the increased TV money and must be worth more than they were 10 years ago. I reckon he will want 350million but will end up settling for a figure closer to 325million. He will probably try and add in the continued advertising rights for SD for 5years and a significant share of the proceeds from club shop sales as part of the negotiation process. It's actually a good test of the interested parties as the ones who are not put off by his deal will be the ones who have the necessary backing to fund the club properly. A few bad results right now and the whole sale could fall apart as the numbers involved rely on us staying in the Premier League. If I was Benitez now I would tell Ashley that I wanted a 1/2mill bonus for every week he keeps the club in the top 10.
Ps- look at Rafa’s body language right now. Says it all. Bloke is walking around with a permanent hard on.
He has put in what he has put in and will want it back, and contrary to what people like to think he hasn't been taking money out of the club which was the gist of your previous post.
Future TV deals will play a role as well. It is expected to take another large hike in value for the next 3 year deal and is being negotiated this year I believe.
