It's a bit late tonight to get into it WJ but we have been crying out for a 3 at the back system against certain teams. For instance, against Sheff Wed they repeatedly played diagonal balls to the corners of our penalty box which drew a central defender out alongside our full back. This resulted in leaving the central area between the goalposts exposed should their striker be able to win the header and knock it across goal.This along with a keeper whose starting position is too deep resulted in us conceding cheap goals. Last season, for example, Bartley and Jannson rarely strayed outside the width of the goal making us more compact defensively. We definitely have the players to be able to play 3-5-2 but it would mean playing Ayling and Dallas as the wing backs to make us rock solid.

I'm so, so sorry to hear that, mate. By 'same as Dallas', I'm assuming it's your mam. God rest her soul. I was a mammy's boy, and sadly she only lasted until she was 57. Devastating, especially as I was moving to england at the time. The only crumb of comfort I can offer you is that you've been blessed for longer than I was. Feel for you.
