Pot calling the kettle black there durbar. Do you want to continue this conversation? I said You replied Whether you are a man or a woman...and "short, fat and ugly" (whatever that means durbar in your judgmental eyes) being drunk and then sexually molested or raped is an awful disgusting thing ....that can live with you and ruin your life forever.. It does not need you to suggest that "short, fat and ugly" people should get themselves into that position.
Sadly it is solid advice to women to avoid putting themselves in positions where they could be attacked, including drinking too much in certain situations. But if we tell all women to change their behaviour, and essentially restrict their freedom, because a man might attack them, what behaviour are we going to change in men? Doesn’t seem fair that 100% of women need to give up stuff because a small percentage of men deserve to be kicked in the bollocks until they don’t work any more. Perhaps all men should take a libido suppressant when they are out of their homes.
I.m suggesting that short fat and ugly women are less likely to get raped or molested. Why are you so upset with what I said, have you been reaped or molested?
1...your first ascertion "I.m suggesting that short fat and ugly women are less likely to get raped or molested"... is downright derogatory. 2...It shows no knowledge of what is happening...old age pensioners get raped, young children get raped, disabled people get raped....getting raped or molested is not a beauty contest that only "pretty young women" win. 3...you have already asked me if "....unless you're short, fat and ugly."... If you ever turned up at QPR you may have met me in one of the stands or in one of the pubs. You could have made up your own mind...but all I can say is...my husband (of 35 years) doesn't seem to think so, which is actually all that matters to me. 4...."Why are you so upset with what I said, have you been reaped or molested?".... I do not think that is any of your business..I notice that you haven't asked any of the other thread contributors (who hold similar views to mine) such as RTID, Stan, 999s or Col if they or their wives, girlfriends, daughters or sisters have been raped or molested. It is a misogynistic remark, that is at the heart of this debate...thank you for profiling to beautifully in this thread. There are gentlemen on this board, who actually understand how to treat people...(people I said, not women) respectfully. Women do not want to be put on a pedstal, they just want to be treated with respect....and not asked if they are "upset" at comments just because they have been sexually harrassed...and if they haven't maybe because it is because they are too short fat and ugly.
Very well said Beth. I wondered whether to add comment yesterday, but I wouldn't have managed to say it as eloquently as you.
I said less likely not that they wouldn't and all husbands know when a wife says do I look good in this always say yes even if they don't otherwise they suffer the consequences.
Another magnificent generalisation there Durbar, you really are on form today. My husband tells me when I don't look good, complements me when I do. He tells me when I am being stupid, complements me when I do or say something clever/bright/intelligent/useful. He is a soul mate...and he doesn't just tell me what I want to hear. I am extremely lucky to have found him. If that is the way you work with your partner Durbar, I wish you and your partner luck, because dishonesty is not the way to go.
